I'll make this short and sweet. I'm not looking to make a big guide about this Hero or any other Hero.
Here is how I decided to make this build/short guide. I joined a game and all the sudden 4/5 people on the opposing team instantly chose, Bounty Hunter, Riki, Pudge, and Zeus.
Right after I saw that I was thinking along the lines of... "Omfg we are gonna get gayyyed."
My team saw this also and thought the same thing haha so they chose their heroes, and I noticed we had no support, and I had been looking into playing Necrolyte because I liked the looks of his abilities. Support while doing some good damage. Keep this in mind, support comes FIRST.
So, I chose Necrolyte with 5 seconds left in choosing heroes, and rushed over to this website to find a good guide/build of this guy to use. What I found is there are no guides for Necrolyte, so I decided I'd just wing it, having a good basic understanding of the game, and it worked great.
Keep in mind I do not consider myself pro or even good with necrolyte. I did well with him, I had good teams the two times I used him. Both times I went around the score of 5-0-15. I'm open for some constructive criticism, but I do not care about making the best guide I can at all, I simply want a decent build for new players who want to play this Hero to be able to just use. And without further adieu, here we go!
Pros:
Basically early game you have 2 options I gave you. If you are going against a caster team, use build 1, as your magic wand will build charges that you can use for mana/heals. It will be useless against heroes like Drow and Windrunner, though, which you would use build #2 for.
For the early game build, I try to get my magic wand first, and then build up for Arcane Boots right away. With your mana issues early/mid game it really helps.
For mid game you will want to build your Mekansm and Scythe of the Vyse. These two items give you a **** ton of regen for both health and mana for your level. They are very useful. They also give you a form of CC and another heal. Woot!
Late game build whatever the **** you want, Link's and Blood will give you more regen, which you already have a ton of, but more helps! If you need more damage and heals build more intelligence. Go with how the game is going, hence situational.
Necrolyte should be going bot or top to assist a teammate. I prefer going with a teammate that (besides not being a ******) will also buy Arcane Boots (which usually means they are ranged, so they can poke well with you) so you can coordinate getting back more mana. I really enjoy laning with a good Rakiro.
Keep in mind, your AoE passive (E) will rack you up some gold in ganks/team fights because of it hitting enemies will get you tons of assists. More gold = more items = more powerful Necrolyte!
Thank you for reading my Necrolyte half-***ed guide. I don't really feel like making it super long or editting it to fulfill your needs in life. If you like it, show so by +1ing it. If you don't do the opposite, frankly I don't care. As I said, I was just looking to make a guide for players who want to try Necrolyte out, but they don't know how to build him. And if you don't like it, I just wasted 5 minutes of your life, so suck on that.
Thanks for reading. GL in Dota 2.
