But yeah, writing about something we like to do (either book reviews or DotA guides) can be pretty funny, I totally agree. That's why I hang around this site too, reading DotA stuff and writing.
Haha no I dont, sometimes I just want to write and DotA is something I know pretty well, if not I'd write about other stuff. Mainly because of two things, eidetic memory and long concentration spans.
These guids you see are done in three days by me, sometimes 15 hours a day, during the night I lay out what I am going to write the next day in my head so the concepts dont cluster together; helps me keep my mind exercised I guess. But when I dont write guides I write other stuff, I also draw for long periods of time, etc. I also speedcube once in a while (Mainly megaminx), etc; everything to keep my mind occupied.
A really good activity to exercise those is creating mazes, long mazes in your head, create them, then solve them as fast as you can, trying to remember the paths.
Great Guide, +1! I just had a question on reaction time and reflexes, you emphasized the importance of having good reflexes but do you know any way to improve reflexes and/or reaction time?
This is actually a major help to me. You could say that I'm the best 1000 MMR player around, so this is extremely helpful. I know the basics of everything that was talked about, but it's awesome to actually have it analyzed. For example, I didn't know that Fountain regen was mixed, like Ball Lightning is.
Impeccable guide, by the way. The first that I've ever seen.
Ah. Fellow Tinker. Glad its helpful, you might be interested on the guide I did on Mid. Its a more complete guide if you are interested on that, and personally a little more dynamic than this text based one.

A very nice guide again! +1
Im sure that if you proceed your guide series you will get something like a medal of honor :D What you contribute to this forum is massive.
So about quickcast: You dont have to give up Double self casting if you set the "normal" hotkeys to Alt+Key. So you have your ultimate for example with r due quickcast but if you want to use it normally ( i like to use chronoshere with Alt+r to get sure that the enemies on the side will be caught in too) you can also use Alt+r.
Most common example is the TP to get to your base without clicking on the minimap.
Wow such a nice guide! I have heard about most of the things but there were a lot of interesting things too! I guess everyone can learn from this guide! Ty Goo

PS: Loved the formatting!
Sure! The guide is not for the tippy-top elite players, its just some general knowledge and guidelines. There may be some stuff that sounds basic like dropping stats but to a beginner that could be helpful advice.

Question:What Tips would you give to a newbie like myself?
