Introduction

Hello all, this is my most successful slark guide (I play at a very low level) I use it very often, it hasn't failed me (well it has, but that was probably because I picked slark right away, so the enemy team knew to pick counter slark heroes)

Pros and Cons

Pros
+ Can heal quickly with ulti
+ Excellent Juker
+ Can easily gank early game
+ Excellent at escape
+ Ulti is only invis that isn't broken by attacks or abilities
+ Dark Pact's purge can dodge stuns if timed correctly

Cons
- Fairly squishy without items
- Has mana issues during mid/early game
- TERRIBLE stats

item/skill build explanation.

slippers: gives extra lasthitting power, and can be used to make Poor man's shield.
branches: no brainer.
tango/salve: most players should know to get some regen in their starting items (gosh why am I even mentioning this).
Poor man's: cheap tankiness.
Power Treads: Extra attack speed makes ganks easier, while flexible stats are useful (not to mention chasing power).
Vanguard: More tankiness.
Yasha: stats. better chase. more attack speed.
Skadi: helps slark's abbysmal stat progression, and attack slow helps a lot with ganking.
SnY: should be a quick buy at this point in the game, and who doesn't need a better Yasha?
Butterfly: even more tankiness and more offensive power.

Why not get these items?

Lifesteal isn't neccesary with Shadow dance's regen, same with heart of tarrasque. Why not basher? well, the key to my success has been reliability. (special note: the extra damage taken with mask of madness means suicide for slark)

Typical gank sequence

pounce, autoattack, it's that easy, if they're not dead by the time the leash duration is up, then use shadow dance, otherwise, use shadow dance for escape only. Simplicity itself.

Slark counters

Any stuns. Any blinks. Stuns allow people to wait out Pounce's leash, and Blinks allow them to escape pounce's leash. Bloodseeker's Thirst counter's Shadow Dance, while Rupture prevents escape. Bounty Hunter's track shouldn't be too much of a problem because dark pact can purge track, be aware of track anyway. Slardar's Amplify Damage counters Shadow Dance as well.
