Slark, is a agility semi-carry hero, Slark can dominate late-game if he has gotten enough xp and gold.

Because slark is a semi-carry it is normal for slark too dual lane with:

    Shadow Shaman

    Disruptor

    Warlock

    And any support or a player that can stun enemies

Slark can be used (and should be) as a solo mid laner because of his ganking ability(s), But the reason for me not using slark in mid lane is because of sniper/pudge/viper, I normally go bottom or one of the side lanes.

Also its easier to get your items at side lanes because of the side shops.

Pros / Cons

Pros

    Can stay in lane due too his passive regen (If out of sight of the enemy)

    Can easily kill squishy players

    Very good at chasing down players due too Pounce


Cons
    Squishy early game

    Can't take down ursa and viper well

    Has little magic resistance

Items

Slark needs attack speed movement speed (for chasing enemies) and health items but also good passive ability items.

Orb Of Venom is a great item for slark because of its passive poison attack this helps slark kill his victims easier.

Vladmir's Offering A great item for any hero, bonus attack damage, life steal and mana regen.

Skull Basher Useful for when enemies are fleeing the stun can give you that little extra time too kill your enemy without diving the tower.


Skills

Slarks skill set allows him to excel in 1v1 combat and ganking, also chasing fleeing enemies is easy because of pounce, you can turn a battle around by running, your ultimate's passive kicks in and you gain more health.


Dark Pact is useful to turn a fight around, you do alot of damage but you damage yourself by 50% of the total damage of your dark pact, but with your ultimate's passive that should be no problem just run until you get a good amount of health back.

Pounce One of the (If not the best) ability Slark has, it is used to chase an enemy and stop them from running, also its useful in team fights too focus on the tankiest/most DPS hero. Also because your immune when your in the air you can use this to dodge abilitys like Assassinate, if timed right.

Essence Shift This is the reason you don't run from Slark, The enemy you are attacking loses 1 of each stat and you gain 3 agility.

Shadow Dance Slark's ultimate is combined with its own passive can help you escape a situation or regenerate some health to help you turn a fight around.

Creeping / Jungling

Slark's power throughout the game is all based on if you can last hit good or not, Last hitting is one of Slark's best skills but it does take time to get used too the attack speed for each level and other variables like that.

Orb Of Venom helps with this hit a creep once then attack when it is on about 1/4 - 1/5 of its health depending on your attack damage.

Also harassing at the start of the game is a good idea, for many reasons but the most common reason for when I do it is to get a little free farm time.

Team Work

Slark at early game is somewhat dependant on who he is up against, Blood Seeker is the biggest threat and counter too Slark, his Thirst passive it counters Shadow dances passive regen.

Also most burst damage heros like lion, But he can take on Ursa 1 on 1 because of his ultimate.
