First let me tell you, Silencer is the hero i have played the most overall, and i rarely ever lose with this build, now you can lose, but this build is very strong if Silencer is going to the middle lane, Silencer is a fun hero to play, i for one can play him several games in a row without getting bored, but for those of you that doesnt know be warned: Silencer is a very squishy hero, he doesnt take damage well!, but he also have a major advantage at the early game with the build above, first of all, Curse of the silent, that will make sure your enemy doesnt have mana as it drains both health and mana, nice huh?, and you can keep farming money from the creeps (In between every time the other hero ventures to close you just give him or her, a whack for good measure to either tell her to be gone or if the other hero is close enough to dropping, finish them off, but do not chase further than towers even if they run away, remember, Silencer takes alot of damage in early phases so he cant afford to be shot by towers more than twice, this hero is very skill oriented, so if you like people that rush forward without thinking( Abaddon...) then Silencer is not the hero for you, he needs to be very careful, he is a great harrass at the start of the game, that steals 2 intelligence from every enemy dying in the vicinity of him, even if you only assist other heroes taking down enemies, and that intelligence (Which is his primary stat) makes him do more damage and have more mana. (Hurray for mana!) Which is very useful for the Silencer, i have found that Silencer is one of the best heroes in Midlane if not THE best hero in the right hands, now i am not saying that Silencer is not beatable, but he need to played in the right manner, early game with this build he is strong, and if he doesnt die alot and gets his farm, midgame and late game, he can be one of the most annoying yet strong heroes, because of his second ability, glaive of wisdom which adds a boost from Silencer's intelligence stat to his base damage! normally this is the power you should start with, but i have found my way of playing him better this way i have build it, so as we were, i rarely use last words which is his 3rd ability, i only do it once or twice in some fights if nescessary against axe or someone like that, else its pretty much the first and the second ability you use, Global silence which is his ultimate, silences all enemies on the map for a few seconds, is useful, but unnescessary in all honesty, atleast until you get the scepter, thats where it really gets interesting, becuase not enough that it silences people anymore, it also pops your curse of the silent on all enemies, which can be further stacked with your ability so you have 2 curse of the silent on the enemies, then you can quickly right click your glaive of wisdom to whack some people with a ton of damage by this point, when you have gotten your scepter you can start to add to the teamfighting, because at this point your ultimate will be very effective, and once you get linken's sphere its only gonna go upwards.
Silencer is a soft hero, he should stay behind in the distance and shoot people with his glaives of wisdom, but remember to be in range so you swallow that nice little intelligence boost every time an enemy hero dies, Silencer is effective in a team fight, his last word ability only really works in a team fight, his most effective powers however is his Curse of the silent, Glaive of Wisdom, and his ultimate Global Silence.
Pro's:
Great early game harrass.
Drains mana and health.
Steals intelligence from dying heroes around him.
His damage and mana increases with every death nearby him.
His damage output late game should be sky high.
Every team should have a Silencer in a team fight!
He is great at making sure your enemies have no mana, while your team does.
Con's:
Has low health.
Doesnt take damage well.
Have no Jungling skills at all so stay on your lane!
Have to be very careful.
Greatest weakness, Lion, his drain mana puts a wrench in your skills so remember clarity!
