You dont need to quickcast or create a macro to pull this off. You can easily do this through shift queuing. What you do is press and hold the shift key then press your item hotkey for shadow blade then sleight of fist and searing chains.
Eh? How is that different than not holding shift and just quickcasting fast enough?
I'm not sure I totally understand what you're saying... unless you shift-queue a short movement and then the combo so you're less likely to fail, but in my experience that fails just as often...

What you do is press and hold the shift key then press your item hotkey for shadow blade then sleight of fist and searing chains. So for example may shadow hotkey is the space bar. You press shift+space+w+q and release the shift key after. You can do this very fast and efficiently.
Also I feel like macros are a bit cheap since part of skill is how good you are at pulling of fast fingers stuff but thats just my opinion.
If you feel that way, look at it this way:
This is a really weird build that is really hard to play. You're already putting yourself at a disadvantage when you try it out for the first few times, just like you put yourself at a disadvantage by choosing chen as someone who can't micromanage.
Either way, I don't actually recommend using a macro because they lag and fail the combo. Your fingers don't once you get used to it.
You know, come to think of it, maybe macros aren't allowed. Maybe w33 was just using advanced settings as the third comment on this reddit post suggests.
Not that it should make a big difference in pubs, especially now that I recommend the non-macro method.
I honestly didn't know you had to press publish. I thought pressing publish would create an entirely new guide, so I didn't do it after the initial version. I was not trying to be sarcastic passive-aggressive, I was saying what I meant. All my other posts were just saying what I meant too, even the "fix it plz" one, although I guess I could have given the guy giving a link to the formatting guide a little more credit.
Sorry if it came across as passive aggressive, that was never my intent.
By the way, what does everybody think about the intro art, now that you can see it? I just increased red, blue, and decreased brightness on this image, but I think it looks a lot better.
Hey. Calm down lads. We are here to have friendly conversations and discuss our opinions. If he likes this formatting he can keep it and accept the fact that there will be some downvotes. And Brute you had no need to get salty and infuriated
Thanks, then. Because I put like a good 10 hours into formatting it after the initial edit.
My post may have sounded sarcastic, but I honestly wanted to know whether he had a more specific suggestion.
In my opinion, a 200 damage steroid on your Sleight of Fist is definitely not a waste of 2800 gold, even if it does have a cooldown. I mean, if people rush Desolator which really only gives maybe +75 damage, why not rush shadow blade? Anyhow it works well on my low level pubs :P
In fact, I like most of how it's formatted now. I use [ [] ] to focus on the subject, rather than spamming it on every single thing that comes up. Since some items are mentioned mid-sentence, it makes sense to me.
Do you have any suggestions to make other than "fix it plz"? Or maybe you didn't notice that this guide is intentionally short because it's only for discussing shadowblade?
Woah, not the best attitude for someone requesting feedback man.
Anyway he's right, the guide really needs some formatting work done, you say you've spent hours on it but I really don't see it. What may have happened is you've editted and reformatted the guide, but you haven't pressed "Publish" again. You need to republish it otherwise any changes you've made wont be updated for the general public - only you will see them. So this may be the case. If it's not the case, you really need to work on formatting/errors.
Otherwise the guide is fine, does a good job of explaining how shadow blade works and interacts with Ember. Is it still a waste of 2800 gold? Well, yes, but it's good to know how it interacts. It would probably be viable (or overpowered) if it worked with Silver Edge, but it doesn't - so it's not really worth it over any other item you could buy. Still a fun mechanic though.
Scripting is not allowed...it's kinda like cheating. This game is about what you can click not what you can install and use it to click 3 keys at the same time. Your guide is pretty **** overall, this isn't even creativity. SCRIPTING IS NOT ALLOWED. Programs like those are simply not allowed.
Bro do you even read?
Literally used in tournaments.
In my opinion, DotA is about strategy, not mad clik skillz. Flappy bird is about dem clik skilz. Which is why I think Valve allows macros.
DOTAFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new hero, or fine tune your favorite DotA hero’s build and strategy.

I reccomend making it look cleaner with rule and and icons. Do: rule and icon=*item, hero, etc* size=*50-100 typically* between two brackets.
Okay. I'll do that at some point since so many people have recommended it.

Tournaments have their own rules and can forbid or allow the use of them.
For the most tournaments its not allowed to use macros witch would activate more then one key.

I did, and spent hours formatting already.
