Slark is a hero best known for his speed and ability to turn tables.
While starting out with low stats and damage output, Slarks essence shift allows him to rectify this problem by stealing the stats of enemy heroes and converting it into his own AGI.
While at lower levels this gain is short lived, at higher levels this ability allows Slark to jump from fight to fight, growing more powerful with every auto-attack.
However, this is not his only advantage. Slark's ultimate shadow dance gives him excellent mobility and regeneration when he his not visible to the enemy team. This gives Slark the freedom to move from lane to lane or skirmish to skirmish, either initiating or running down those wounded by your allies.
Pounce is your first ability, as it gives you a way to either initiate or escape, however investing more points into it should be saved until later. From there it is a matter of splitting points between dark pact and essence shift. Maxing out essence shift early is not very neccessary as you will not have the items or ult to make use of the longer steal duration. Dark pact is a decent burst of damage, but it's greatest asset is the fact that it self-purges, removing debuffs such as track or viper strike.
Healing and regeneration items are mostly useless for Slark since his ult gives him unmatched regeneration. However, good STR and AGI are suggested for the sake of being able to survive the opening salvo so that you can actually steal the stats of your first victim and move onto the rest. Orb of venom helps keep enemies from escaping,
