Introduction

Basically, this hero Pugna is made for mid lane ( my opinion ) because it is really easy for him to control runes and gank, using Nether Blast to push the lane so you have some time to go for the rune, if on mid lane is a hero which uses mana you can leave Nether Ward so he is unable to push via his skills which require mana. Make sure to get the bottle ASAP so you can bottle the rune and use it when required. Make sure you kill at least one hero when ganking so you need to wait for proper runes. People play Pugna as a support of course it is possible but I prefer this one so you have bigger role in your team's success or failure whatever, there are better heroes for supporting. Pugna is not very popular but it is really useful and strong hero for teamfights and etc.

Story

In the realm of Pugna's birth, near the vents of the Nether Reaches, there stood a lamasery devoted to the Arts of Oblivion, which drew its power from the nether energies. The Grandmaster of the temple compound had himself passed into Oblivion several years prior, leaving his academy without a leader. From the moment of their master's death, the regents of the temple began rites of divination to identify their master's reincarnation, and eventually all signs converged on the immediate neighborhood. Several villages squatted in the shadow of the temple, their alleys and plazas full of the laughter of squalling children. Pugna, a mere thirteen months of age, was but one candidate among the local brats, and on the appointed day he was presented at the temple alongside two other promising tots. The lamas offered a jumble of worn relics to the children, treasured possessions of their former grandmaster. One boy reached for a porphyry wand that had belonged to the lama...and put it in his nostril. An impish girl pulled out an amulet that had also been the lama's, and immediately swallowed it. Pugna regarded the other two coolly, gave a merry laugh, and blasted them with gouts of emerald flame, reducing them to ashes in an instant. He then snatched up the wand and amulet, saying 'Mine!' The regents hoisted the beaming Pugna on their shoulders, wrapped him in their grandmaster's vestments, and rushed him to the throne before his mood could change. Within five years, the temple itself was another pile of ash, which pleased Pugna to no end.

PUGNA VOICES

Skills

Nether Blast

An exploding pulse deals damage to enemies and structures in the area. Deals 33% damage to structures.
Range: 400
Radius: 400
Damage: 100 / 175 / 250 / 325 to units and 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 to structures
Blast Delay: 0.9

Mana Cost: 80 / 105 / 125 / 145 Cooldown Time: 5.5

This skill is very useful for pushing, this is the first skill you are going to put points to the maximum because it really has big damage in the early and mid game not really big in the late part.

Decrepify

A powerful banishing spell that slows a unit and renders it unable to attack or be attacked. Afflicted units take extra magic damage.
Range: 700
Duration: 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5
Spell Damage Increase: 40%
Movement Speed Slow: 50%

Mana Cost: 100 Cooldown Time: 12 / 10 / 8 / 6

This skill needs to be used after placing Nether Blast because of the short duration to make sure Nether Blast hits while being under effect of DecrepifyThis can be used in both cases offensive and defensive, in offensive case I stated already how to use it because of receiving more magical damage but in defencive case you can place it on yourself or your teammate so they do not receive any physical damage. Make sure not to cast this on the enemies when your team mates are beating him up with auto attacks and DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING IT TO GET THE KILL FOR YOURSELF! Also it can be cast on Nether Ward if required to save it.

Nether Ward

Pugna places a nether ward that fires mana flares at enemy heroes who dare to cast spells, while also preventing them from regenerating mana. Nether Ward deals damage equal to the damage multiplier times the mana spent by the enemy hero. Lasts 25 seconds.
Radius: 1600
Duration: 25
Ward Health: 75/150/225/300
Damage Per Mana Used: 1/1.25/1.5/1.75
Mana Regeneration: -1.5 / -3.0 / -4.5 / -6

Mana Cost: 80 Cooldown Time: 35

You need to place the ward as soon as the team fight starts but not in the middle because it can be destroyed and will have no effect but do not place it too early because as you see it lasts 25 seconds not more.

Life Drain

CHANNELED - While channelling Life Drain, Pugna siphons HP of the target enemy unit. Lasts 10 seconds.
SCEPTER UPGRADABLE: Increases drain per second and sets cooldown time to zero.
Break threshold range 1100
Range: 850 (900*)
Duration: 10
Health Drained Per Second: 120 / 160 / 200 (180/240/300*)

Mana Cost: 125 / 175 / 225 Cooldown Time: 22 (0*)

This is very powerful skill which can be stopped by any kind of disable so if in the rival team are heroes with many disables you better get Black King Bar as soon as possible. As you see hero needs to run 1100 meter away to interrupt the channeling but you are unable to move. After getting Scepter the cooldown is set to ZERO

Creeping / Jungling

All you need to know about Creeping is that you base damage is not very big so that's the reason you are getting branches in the start afterwards you are good to creep and harrass on lane. Do not even think about Jungling you won't succeed.

Pros / Cons

Pros:

Does not require great farm to deal nice damage
    Can push lanes easily
Nice base damage for harassing and creeping
Nether ward deals tons of damage if used wisely

Cons:
    Very squishy hero
    Easy to steal kills
If you get silenced that's over
