[Quick] Goo's Manual To 6.87 New Items

Preface

The patch came in at the worst possible time for me so I bring this little guide done entirely on my phone.

For now I just want to be the first mention of the new information with some explanation on the side, as patch notes can be hard to digest for new players.

The information in this manual guide was taken from the 6.87 patch notes, the current game information, some of my views of how I think it will be used in matches.

Any presumed or not confirmed information will be written in bright pink, in case it may be changed, those parts can be dismissed or taken with caution.

Bloodthorn (Big Item)

Crafted using an Orchid Malevolence, a Crystalys and a 1000 Recipe. For a total of 7195 Gold.

Provides:

+ 25 Intelligence
+ 30 Attack Speed
+ 60 Damage
+ 150% Mana Regeneration

Passive: Grants the user a 20% chance to crit for 175% damage.

Active: Applies the Bloodthorn debuff on an enemy.

Bloodthorn debuff: Silences the target and causes any attacks they recieve to be true strikes (no missing) and have a chance (20%) to crit for 135% damage.

Cooldown: 11
Duration: 5

Bloodthorn presents itself as an item that allows good midgame carries to transition into more lategame relevance without relying completely in their snowball momentum.

Best used by:

- Slark
- Windranger
- Silencer
- Clinkz

Best against:

- Phantom Assassin's Blur
- Windranger's Windrun
- Riki's Smoke Screen (maybe you and some allies are caught inside a smoke screen, by using Bloodthorn on Riki, you silence him and allow your team to hit him inside the smoke without missing, plus having a chance to crit)
- Keeper of the Light's Blinding Light
- Tinker's Laser
- Heroes under Solar Crest and other kinds of single hero evasion items.

Note:

The user's passive critical chance and the active chance to crit a target stack, the passive has priority on roll due to it's highest damage, on fail, the second crit rolls.

Echo Sabre (Medium Item)

Crafted from an Oblivion Staff and an Ogre Club. For a total of 2650 Gold.

Provides:

+10 Strength
+10 Intelligence
+10 Attack Speed
+15 Damage
+75% Mana Regeneration

Passive (Only works on Melee Heroes):

Duplicates your next attack (similar to Geminate Attack), the second attack has a 0.6 second mini-slow effect of 100% attack speed and movement speed. Similar to Sniper's Headshot. This Echo effect has 5 second cooldown.

The Echo Attack can carry modifiers such as Critical Strikes, Bashes and Lifesteal, etc.

Best used by:

- Wraith King
- Riki
- Slark
- Spirit Breaker
- Tiny
- Sven

Blight Stone (Small/Component)

Single purchase item of 300 Gold. Replaces the recipe for Desolator and also the recipe for Medallion of Courage.

Passive: Reduces the target armor by 2 on attack.

Works exactly like a Desolator, that means:

"If the frist hit of dasoltor hits as, the - armor is already placed?" "Yes."

Best used by:

- Nature's Prophet
- Mirana
- Tusk
- Vengeful Spirit
- Other roaming heroes and supports, good in combination with Orb of Venom.

Available in sideshop.

Infused Raindrops (Consumable)

Single Purchase pseudo-consumable for 225 Gold.

Provides:

+0.85 Mana Regeneration

Passive: Magic Block Effect.

Comes with 5 charges, each charge blocks 120 magic damage and they are activated automatically whenever you take over 50 damage. This effect has a 4 second cooldown. When charges are depleted, the item dissapears.

Best used by:

Beastmaster.
Timbersaw.
Tidehunter.

Playing offlaners who need tanking up against magic damage. Laning against hard nukers such as Zeus or Lina to mitigate the damage taken from harass.

Can only be bought from the minute 3:00 onwards, otherwise could be overpowered using it from level 1 in a 1v1 mid situation.

Wind Lace (Small/Component)

Single Purchase item for 225 Gold. Replaces Sage's Mask as a component for Eul's Scepter of Divinity and as a component in the new buildup of Drums of Endurance (Bracer, Ring of Regeneration, Wind Lace and a 700 Gold recipe).

Provides:

+20 Movement Speed

Fully stacks with any movement speed from Boots obviously.

Best used by:

- Spirit Breaker
- Techies
- Lina
- Invoker

Tome Of Knowledge (Consumable)

Single Purchase Consumable of 150 Gold.

Active (Single Use): Grants the user 425 Experience.

Starts out of the stock of the shop, and replenishes every 10 minutes.

Best used by:

Hard Supports with Exp dependence: Notably Ancient Apparition and Venomancer. Of course it's expected that any hero will buy it (most likely supports) in any given game, even if not in desperate need of the exp, just to add it up.

Hurricane Pike (Big Item)

Crafted with Dragon Lance, Force Staff and a 250 Gold Recipe. For a total of 4375 Gold.

Provides:

+20 Agility
+15 Strength
+10 Intelligence
+4 HP Regen
+130 Attack Range (Only Ranged Heroes)

Active:

When used on allies or self cast works like a normal Force Staff.

When used on enemies pushes them and yourself 450 units away from each other and grants you a 5 second (or 4 attacks) grace period where you can attack that (and only that) target without range restrictions. Cast range is halved when used on enemies (400 from 800).

Best used by:

- Drow Ranger
- Enchantress
- Sniper
