Pudge(They call me butcher, i call myself hooker) (Simple guide)

Starting Strategy

Starting which a Soul Ring recipe and a Ring of Regen with one or two Clarity will provide you enough mana to Meat Hook at level 3.
YES, level 3 should be the starting of your Meat Hook, even level 2 will also provide first blood to you because your enemy(especially noob) will not aware about your Meat Hook.

A Soul Ring also very useful in suicide which use it when you below 150 hp and with your Rot triggered.

Meat Hook them before they know what will hit them!!!

Midgame Strategy

GANK the whole map and put the ward if you supporters are noob enough to rush their Mekansm or Force Staff without a Observer Ward, feel free to do these because you can put your ward when going for a gank and a pudge don't really need item to prove his/its usefulness.

To support your gank, chose an Arcane Boots to support your mana(DO NOT SELL YOUR Soul Ring, YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN YOU NEED MANA AGAIN OR NEED TO SUICIDE).

If your team lack of a tanker or you found that you always be a target(Teemo ultimate, global taunt), Tranquil Boots will make your enemy harder to kill(and buy your team enough time to kill them) and regen your mana each time you use Soul Ring.

Come to pudge!

Lategame Strategy

If your Global Taunt still working, rush with blademail and let your teammate to handle the rest when you drinking your coffee.

If your Meat Hook is good enough, buy Aghanim's Scepter and your role will change to the one who keep decreasing your enemy number, Meat Hook and disable for their supporter or carry if a team fight occur with 5v5, or not, just starting to kill who you want.(Remember your ultimate could regenerate your HP, so you could also tank awhile and ultimate in the team fight, which your enemy can't kill you even you tank a lot of their damage already)

Hood of Defiance is useless for ganking pudge if you never make yourself inside a team fight but only pull others out. Just buy Aghanim's Scepter.

Rip more meat before timeout.

Hook Guide

DON'T Meat Hook when:

  • Enemy got blink dagger and you will provide vision of your team to your enemy when you pull one of them to your team.
  • Earthshaker is waiting your Meat Hook.
  • You can't kill your enemy(which include your teammate damage).
  • You fail your Meat Hook.(Call your team to back if they still go for a team fight.)(FOLLOW THEM IF THEY DIDN'T LISTEN TO YOU, YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR CARRY.)

Meat Hook when:
  • Meat Hook chance is higher than 50%(DO NOT SAVE YOUR HOOK, IT DOESN'T REQUIRE ANY AMMO)
  • You THINK enemy is there and you can kill it.
  • Pull enemy's most useful hero when a team fight trigger, even if you dead, you still make your team to kill a lot of them.

Don't just run straight toward your enemy and Meat Hook them, use fog, creep(when they last hitting creep or when they chased by a bunch of creep), terrain, and physiology(most difficult and most interesting part to play as a pudge).

Predict where they more, and also predict where they dodge your Meat Hook, it is like 'I know you know I know'.

Always Meat Hook with a 30 to 60 degree(don't laugh, from my experience, this is the most easiest way to get your target, which your target has very small chance to be 'lucky dodge')

PING before you gank.

Put an eyes on your HP, which need to be very careful when using Rot and Soul Ring.

Meat Hook then combo( Dismember Rot) always better than combo then Meat Hook.
