Welcome to my Nyx Assassin guide :D
Nyx Assassin or also known as Nerubian Assassin is my favorite hero from the warcraft 3 dota.
Recently Nyx Assassin has become a very popular hero in Dota 2. So I decided to share my knowledge and experience of playing this hero and make a guide. Just know that This is still not a complete guide and feel free to comment on the bottom of this page. I record Dota 2 videos and post them every weekend on youtube. For Starting Items grab a tango and a salve for basic sustain. Don't be afraid to use the courier to bring more tangos or salves to keep you in the lane. You should try to stay in the lane as long as possible rather than going back to base every 10 mins. Grab 2 gauntlets for hp and turn them into urn of shadows later in the game. To fill the rest of the item slots buy branches. If you randomed you can either go for fast boot or sage's mask.
For core/midgame items grab a mana boot asap. It will give you the most needed mana pool and regen. After that, finish urn of shadows and always carry tp scrolls. With these item set up you should be able to gank without problem. Even if you take lots of dmg from the gank, urn of shadows should get you back to full health. If you have extra money after these items start working on preservace by buying ring of health and voidstone.
For Late game/Luxury items finsih the linkin's sphere. The reason I get linkin's sphere instead of dagon is because I prefer the great stats and the spell block it provides. The cost of making a lvl 3 dagon is almost the same price as linkin's sphere. It only gives you very little stat and less mana regen. Most people will continue buying recipes until it's lvl 5, which cost another 2600 gold. Enough to buy a boots of travel XD.
After linkin's sphere, you can build nyx in various ways. I usally go for an ethereal blade since it provides a great nuke that amplifies your other nukes. It gives you very good agility and evasion from physical attacks. Then you can sell your mana boot and make it into boots of travel for free tp and speed. If the games is still going buy a sheep stick for hex ability to disable carries such as void or antimage. If you don't think that's is going to be the problem buy shiva's guard for lots of armor and a cool active aoe dmg slow.
