Arc Warden is an agility hero that requires high micromanagement skills to play effectively. Playing him means utilizing 2 heroes at the same time at a limited time at a limited set of cooldowns. If you're used to play heroes like Syllabear or Meepo, then this hero might come easy for you to control. At this guide, we will be focusing on my own playstyle for this hero since I am convinced that only my playstyle can give you an 80-99% win rate, well sometimes it depends on how good you perform at lane(usually and most preferred, Mid lane) but almost everytime, even when countered or ganked, you can actually outplay your opponent at all game stages.
The spell set is pretty straight forward. Your 1st spell-Flux is maxed first because it's your offensive spell for kills. The trick is first aim the ranged creep via Right Clicks or with Spark Wraith, isolating your enemy hero on mid(Mid heroes are mostly ranged so..) dealing the full potential damage to your enemy. Next is zone him with your Spark Wraiths, this serves as vision as well to your enemy mid high ground when you're at the river. Calculating the amount of damage even at level 4-5 is quite a big number for just 2 spells, adding your own right clicks for even more. Mostly, by level 4 or 5, you can already guarantee a kill if your lane is a squishy mid hero but when facing tanky melees, perhaps at level 6. Next spell is an area of effect 3rd spell, Magnetic Field-your pushing/100% evasion spell, which is helpful at team fights, taking down towers or by simply using its dodge ability for hard right clickers. Just keep in mind to position yourself, separating you and your foes from the field(you on the inside). Great for tower defends too! Lastly, your ultimate-Tempest Double, creates a nearly perfect clone of you, which can use all your spells(except Ultimate) and items at its own different cooldown. Let's say it just doubles your fire power for a couple of seconds, up to 16 seconds at max level. Take note that some items are not recreated such as drop on death items, wards, etc. Not such a big deal. This clone, at late game, can actually take down a couple of supports or squishy carries by itself without you having to go on war. But if it dies on the enemy's hands, gold is granted to them. Use wisely.
You need to have as much as clickable items for this hero since its ultimate-Tempest Double is your bread and butter tool to wreck havoc in the opposing team. At the first minutes, you will need a wraith band- for stats and damage, attack speed, a bit of armor, and regeneration items like tangoes(better if donated by supports). Transform your WBand to Aquila when afford for extra armor, damage and mana. Your first goal is to have your Hand of Midas at 6-10 mins, after that, amassing gold is no longer your problem, add the EXP bonus, too. Also, before level 6, you might want to have a Healing Salve and Enchanted Mango for its spammable benefit from tempest double. It will make yourself like a walking fountain. As for your core, the Dagger and BoT are your best friends. It gives you a global presence, mobility, movespeed, in which Arc warden lacks. After that, your next items will depend on how soon or later you completed your cores. When finished getting your cores before 20 min mark. I suggest to go for the Pub Destroyer Item Build to finish the game at 28-35 min. Don't let your enemy carries get their core items or you may need to shift to a more complex build if you can't finish before 40 min mark.
There are times where your lane enemy can actually outplay you or you'll be getting early ganks from your enemy team. If these circumstances are met, ask for help like ganks, extra wards, buy additional protective items like raindrop, etc. or try rotating to the map since you have great ganking capabilities even without your dagger/BoT. At level 6, you can try to be super safe gaming by farming your main and your clone, participating in team fights. The chances of getting kills are quite good due to your far cast distance and low cooldown. Not such a big deal , pffft. If you still lost, blame the main carry..
