Necrolyte Semi-Carry Guide

Introduction

Necrolyte is a Semi-Tank-Carry often mistaken as a pure Support Hero (yeah, he has a heal, but that doesnt make him support only). With his constant damage potential, staying as long as possible in the teamfights will slowly demolish the enemy team while keeping your mates healthy and in a good shape.

Playstyle/Laning/Build Order Explanation

Usually i prefer Solo Mid lane, since the level advantage is quite good for him. Unfortunatly his ganking potential is quite low, you dont have a good disable or nuke, but with rune control you can get some early kill which will help you farm your items.

You want to max out Death Pulse first, since its your main damage source and heal, along with Sadist will make you stay on your lane forever. Take your Ultimate whenever possible. Once you spend every Point into your main skills, Heartstopper Aura will be maxed before picking stats.

Make sure to stay nearby enemies when casting Death Pulse, cause it has a fairly low range. Good Lasthitting and Denying is also necessary to keep your mana up.

Skills

Death Pulse

This is our spamable ability and main damage source which provides us with good lane substainability, farming, push and counterpush potential. It truly shines in teamfights as we provide constant heals to our mates while damaging our foes. Its said that due to its fairly short range we have to get close to our targets, so be sure you can last as long as possible.
Heartstopper Aura

Heartstopper Aura is another reason why we wanna stay into those teamfights cause its a constant damage aura which gets even better the more Health our enemies have. Unfortunatly since its a HP Removal and not damage, it wont disable items such as Blink Dagger.
Sadist

With this skill and our lasthitting power we will be pretty much mana regen independent. Providing us with mana gain every time we lasthit or deny makes it such a great skill and synergies perfectly with Death Pulse.

Reaper's Scythe

The infamous Ultimate, One-Shot and Killsteal Ability, all in once (just kidding). It deals damage based on how much HP the enemy is missing. It also stuns for 1 sec before the damage is applied. Upgraded by Aghanims, it will instantly kill every target below 55% Health. Perfect to finish off those nasty bastards *harharhar*

Items

Itemswise your really wanna beef up your HP and Mana Pool, so get some of this precious tanky items ;)
Starting off with some Tangos/Salve and Ironwood Branches for the stats, you´re going to get some Boots, a Bracer and maybe a Ring of Basilius for the Armor and a little bit of mana regen (although Mana shouldnt be a problem as long as your a good lasthitter). A Magic Stick is also good, but quite situational.

You wanna finish a Mekansm which gives your good stats, armor and an AoE heal to double your heal potential. Finishing Power Treads in before is also possible since the +stats and movementspeed comes quite handy. Going for Phase Boots is also an option, it depends on your playstyle.

After that rush to the Vanguard, your first and most important Tank Item. More HP, Health Regen and Damage Block, everything you need is provided.

If you want your can upgrade your Bracer to Drums of Endurance. Although you dont really need the Movement Speed and Attack Speed Buff, it will also buff your mates, which sometimes can be really good.

From that on i usually go for the Sheepstick, cause it has one of the best disables in the whole game and the Int bonus will boost up your Mana Pool (spamming Death Pulse and Mekansm can burn through your Mana Pool really quick in the Teamfights)

Bloodstone will be the next item. HP increase, Mana increase and a bunch of regen makes this item unbeatable.
Now you should be able to last really long in every Teamfight, make sure to use your Mekansm on your mates and disable the enemy carry with your Sheepstick. Constantly spamming Death Pulse nearby enemies and finishing them off with your Ultimate is the key.

Further options are:
- Hood of Deviance (maybe upgrading it to a Pipe of Insight against that nasty casters)
- Rod of Atos for more Int and a Cripple
- Shivas Guard for more Armor and an AoE Slow
- Aghanim´s Scepter for Ultimate Boost
