Pointers:

Don't write your guide in one sitting, develop it over the course of a few days. You will have more content and it will be of better quality this way.
Plan what content you want in your guide, guides are more than a skill/item build. You need to discuss your ideas in depth and give some context to your choices. That way you can help others improve and they in turn can help you!
Do not publish a guide without atleast a full skill build, item build and gameplay discussion. There is so much more that you can add to a guide but those 3 things are the minimum for a guide to become successful.
Be open-minded, not everyone is going to agree with your choices in items. Be flexible with your build and allow for community contributions to make their way into your guide if it is a viable option.
Take pride in your work, presentation is everything! It allows for easier reading and makes it appealing to your viewers. See -> Dr. D's Guide <-
