Lina can dish out some pretty significant physical DPS thanks to Fiery Soul, so Desolator isn't exactly the worst choice out there. That being said, there are far better choices as well, such as Force Staff and Bloodstone.

Why Desolator?

Lina is a support hero, not a carry.
