leaf's Puck

Hi guys, first guide so bear with me.

Puck is a very elusive hero who excels on a quick initiation, a large dealing of damage, and an escape, in that order. To do this correctly, you must combine a series of items and abilities in a select pattern:

1. Blink onto an enemy (enemies)
2. Fire off your Illusory Orb ability in an ideal direction (not into an their base, for example)
3. Activate your Veil of Discord on as many targets as you can
4. Use your Waning Rift ability
5. Drop your Dream Coil ability
6. Use your Phase Shift ability
7. Use your Ethereal Jaunt ability to escape

Now, there is a catch. Puck's Illusory Orb is active for 2.995 seconds. Upgraded with your Level 20 talent, you then have just shy of 4.2 seconds. This means you have to be quick with activating your abilities as well as activating them in the proper order.

The items themselves all serve a purpose. Your core items are Blink Dagger, Veil of Discord, Boots (Power Treads or Arcane Boots depending on your feel / play style), and Kaya.

Blink Dagger allows you to blink in and initiate a team fight or gank, while keeping Illusory Orb as a means of escape. Try to purchase this before the 15th minute. NOTE: Once Phase Shift is fully maxed, use that ability to wait for Blink Dagger to cooldown, as you will fade from the map for 3.25 seconds and BD's cooldown from taking damage is only 3 seconds. This is a good escape.

Veil of Discord is perfect as Puck dishes out magic damage with all of his abilities, and Dagon also deals magical damage. Again, be sure to cast this before attempting to deal damage.

Kaya, a new item added in Patch 7.07, will increase spell damage by 10%, reduce mana cost by 10%, and give you +16pts of intelligence. Good transitional, mid-game item.

As you approach late game, Puck needs certain items to remain effective in a team fight. Inevitably, Puck's damage output will begin to look less and less impressive. Keep upgrading Dagon if possible. Purchasing a Eul's Scepter of Divinity or Scythe of Vyse will help keep your mana pool full, and help your team in a fight.

Finally, Aghanim's Scepter improves your ultimate ability, Dream Coil, by increasing the break damage, stun length, and causes the stun to pierce spell immunity. Linken's Sphere could be used to help escape when initiating.
