The whole Idea of this build is to start ganking early, at around lvl 2-4 and getting a lot of gpm by using devour. This build is based on the idea of "China Doom" I heard from Purge Gamers. I have sort of tweaked it though and I think this is the best carry/snowball Doom build there is currently.
Items I typically get usually help with ganking or dps, maybe a bit of mana. Right off the bat you want to start with 1 iron branch, stout shield, tangos, and a ring of protection. Now once the game starts try to get the bounty rune if you can. This really helps with your xp and gold. Rush tranquil boots and have them at around the 3-4 minute mark. This is done by last hitting a bit in lane (I like to go bot if I am radiant so I have the jungle easily accessed), and devouring jungle creeps, then all you have to buy is a ring of regen and boots of speed. After tranquils get yourself an orb of venom this is so you slow your enemy and can chase them down under towers or anywhere actually. By this time youre probably a lvl 2,3 maybe 4. Now is when you start ganking. Other items I get are a ring of basilias because you need more mana and also armor is good, and later I like to turn that into vlads kinda for fun I guess. But an essential item after oov is shadow blade, I always get this over blink dagger because it gives better ganking opportunities IMO plus it gives dps. Shivas Guard, or AC is extremely necessary because Doom obviously has terrible armor and attack spped. Based on the circumstances I will build a Shivas if I feel a slow is more crucial than attack speed, but both are great items for Doom.
You will want to level devour and scorched earth pretty evenly I find, although I tend to max devour first for more gpm. When ganking if scorched earth is on you can easily chase down your opponent because it gives you bonus movement speed and hp regen, if you have your orb of venom to slow them they usually have no chance of getting away. I still think Lvl? death is a good skill in the right circumstances, you just don't have the mana to constantly cast that when ganking, and I also believe scorched earth is more useful to get early kills.
You should begin ganking at around lvl 2-4 typically starting with the safe lane right after you have your tranquils and oov as well as your stolen skill from devour. To kill your enemy you should slow them down by hitting them because of oov, and chase them using scorched earth to kill them. If you get these kills and have the gold I like to buy a ring of basilias for a little mana regen. Already you have a lvl advantage over your opponents in lane, now roam and try to secure kills on the most annoying hero on the enemy team. Such as the one with the stun, or silence. Also when performing a Gank don't be shy when you dive a tower to get a kill, you will be fine since you have scorched earth and tranquils, as long as you don't be stupid obviously.
Like I said earlier, I think going bot lane for radiant, or top for dire is the best lane to start in although you won't be there too long. I find it best to have a support with you and to make sure you last hit until the 1 minute mark. At 1 minute you need to start to jungle and try to find a good creep to devour for their skills (Typically and alpha wolf or a ghost with the frost attack). Once you get your items at around 3-4 minutes in the game try and kill your enemies in the lane. This is pretty easy if you let the lane push farther to your tower so you can go in behind. If you have a support with you that has a stun it is generally easy to secure at least one kill. Make sure your teammates know when you are going to tower dive for a kill so they can help you as well. If they don't follow you and it cost you a kill it can be frustrating.
