Guide to Roaming Axe

Intro

Guide is dedicated to Justin, you know who you are. This is a guide for those of you who want to learn how to play a roaming Axe. This guide is make for those who wish to learn how to play Axe not as a laner, but as a roaming tornado of destruction.

Items

For the early laning stage, this is the most well suited. If you have a support with you, then you should have no problems picking up kills on the enemy team. You just have to make sure that you have enough mana to get things done. Blink is a must because you need mobility and chase. Blade Mail is even better in the fact that it gives you another source of damage on top of Counter Helix. Not even that, but the damage returned is Pure so it will cut through anything. Things like Halberd and Heart only ensure your surival. The other items just help with that.

Roaming

As Axe, one of your primary roles is a roaming tank. You go around the map and help get kills,or in most cases, GET the kills. If you are an efficient roamer then this shouldn't present too much of a problem. If you do a good hob then you should be able to shut down your opponents in order to give your own carries time and space to farm. As such, you want to throw yourself into battle as much as possible in order to secure the kills, you are designed to be a tank to take the flak away from your carries so that they may whittle the enemy team down. But be careful, you are a tank but you aren't invincible, you have to carefully manage your hp so you are not the first one to go down in a team fight, always makes sure that you have enough hp to survive the fight that you throw yourself into.

Jungling

Axe is a hero that belongs in the jungle. You should hit the jungle as much as possible to gain experience so that you can roam as fast as possible. In my experience, stacking is a must. You need to stack in order to raise your exp gain so you can roam around the map and make kills happen. But don't stay in the jungle for too long, if you do, then you can easily miss out on fights where you could've turned the tide of battle. You have to take lane awareness into account when you jungle. If you stay in the jungle for too long then you'll miss opportunities to make ganks happen. Those ganks could make all the difference in the game. Also, make sure to guard the rune whenever it is feasible to do so. Especially for your mid lane. These are what make a good jungling Axe.

Skills

This skill set is one dedicated to roaming around the map and making kills happen when its possible. You max Counter Helix first so you can have your maximum amount of damage output available as soon as possible. Now you might argue that you should max Battle hunger second as a chase move, or maybe a harass, but i don't think this is good because Battle Hunger at level four costs mana that Axe just doesn't have. Maxing Berserkers Call is better because it gives your teammates a window of opportunity in which to strike down your opponents and gain Xp and money. And as always get your Ult at the standard levels.
