Introduction

Hello and welcome to my first guide in Dotafire. It's about one of my favorite heroes Enchantress.

This guide got inspired by one of my favorite pro players and Chen players in Dota 2: Puppey the captain of Na`Vi.

I want to describe this build shortly:

It's about playing Enchantress as a jungling/ganking hero which gets huge amount of tankyness and DMG in the later stages of the game (even before).

Lets move on to the next part of my guide shall we?

Why Enchantress?

This question is easily answerd.

Enchantress is one of the heroes you always like to have. She have a good early game because of her jungling abilitys + a slow (W) and overall great utility in the whole game with the best one-target-heal in Dota 2 (E) (900 HP over time for you!), a carry-killer AS debuff aura (110% AS reduction!!!) and her great damage-dealing ultimate (R).

Also she is easier to learn if you want to learn micromanaging. Because you only have one or two creeps most of the time.

Lore

Aiushtha appears to be an innocent, carefree creature of the woods, and while this is certainly true, it is hardly the sum of her story. She well understands the suffering of the natural world. She has wandered far, and fared through forests bright and drear, in every clime and every season, gathering friends, sharing news, bringing laughter and healing wherever she goes. For in worlds wracked by war, forests are leveled for the building of ships and siege engines; and even in places of peace, the woods are stripped for the building of homes, and as fuel for countless hearths. Aiushtha hears the pleas of the small creatures, the furtive folk who need green shade and a leafy canopy to thrive. She lends her ears to those who have no other listeners. She carries their stories from the wood to the world, believing that her own good cheer is a kind of Enchantment, that can itself fulfill the promise of a verdant future.

Pros & Cons of Enchantress

Pros:

  • Best one-target-heal in Dota 2 (900 HP over time for you)
  • A really good early game (W allows to gank and jungle effectivly!)
  • A jungle hero
  • Great damage with only 1 item (even before good damage!)
  • A attackspeed-debuff with 110% attackspeed reduction (makes you kinda tanky against carrys etc.)
  • A supportive aspect even without full-support build
  • Easier micromanaging than the most other heroes who need micromanaging
  • Easy to learn and to deal with if you played Dota 2 for a while

Cons:
  • Needs micromanaging for good ganking etc. (even if it's less then Chen for example!)
  • Very squishy if not given enough farm/items over time (or bad item build)
  • Her slow CAN sometimes be not enough to get the enemy down (even if it's strong)
  • She will be focused kinda often even with spells and disables

These are only a few Pro & Cons so please don't flame at me if I forget some!

Skills

Untouchable Enchantress beguiles her enemies, slowing their attacks when she is attacked.
Duration: 3
Attack Speed Slow: 20/50/80/110

This is the attackspeed-debuff I mentioned. It gives to tankyness against heroes who needs to auto attack to make DMG. This will be usefull for escaping aswell. NOTE: This won't slow the enemys movmentspeed only attack speed.

Enchant Enchantress charms an enemy, bringing it under her control (if a creep) or slowing it (if a hero).

Range: 700
Duration: 5.5
Enchant Duration: 80 seconds
Movement Speed Slow: 20%/30%/40%/50%
CD: 30/25/20/15
Manacost: 65

You can convert creeps with it and it's a strong slow with a fairly low mana cost and good duration in both aspects of the skill. It will make you to the jungling/ganking machine in the early game and will leave you with a near endless amount of farming ability in the jungle.

Nature's AttendantsA cloud of wisps heals Enchantress and any friendly units nearby. Lasts 10 seconds.
Heal Per Second Per Wisp: 10
Radius: 275
Duration: 10
Number Of Wisps: 3/5/7/9
CD: 45/45/45/45
Manacost: 125/140/155/170

Does you need a heal? Well this spell gives you the best single-target-heal in Dota 2. With a total of 900 HP for you over 9 seconds it's incredible strong especially i f you want to stay in the jungle and for a good amount of tanking ability! (Beware you aren't unkillable!)

Impetus Places an enchantment on each attack while activated, causing it to deal additional damage based on how far away the target is. The farther the target, the greater the damage dealt.
Range: 550 (715*)
Distance Traveled Dealt In Damage: 15%/20%/25%
Damage Cap: 375/500/625
Manacost: 55/60/65
Damage: Pure

Can be improved by Aghanims Scepter (*shows the improved values): Increases attack range and cast range of Impetus. (165 range upgrade)
Standard dmg with Aghanims Scepter: 113/152/189

Well this ultimate is a toggle effect. It means you need to ALT+*key of the ability* to activate it permanently (or to take aways the permanent effect). It deals huge amounts of damage and it scale really well over time because of the pure damage you deal. If the enemy runs away you will make more damage. Take care of a good positioning. It's the key to know if you want to stay away or to go more risky and aggressive.

Items

A short explanation of the items I choose. It will help you understand why you should build these items.

Gloves of Haste + 2x Clarity

Gloves of Haste and the 2x Claritys builds the starting build. Gloves of Haste is for Midas and the Claritys for problems with mana in early game. They could be needed but don't have to. But if you want to gank alot etc. you need the mana. Also the Gloves of Haste gives you some kinda needed attackspeed for the whole game if you build it into a Midas.

NOTE: It's not a support oriented build so you don't go Courier. Let the "true" support get the Courier instead of you.

Hand of Midas

Hand of Midas gives you great jungling and farming power. It will give you stable gold over the time and it leads to get the cheap but costeffective items. It will also gives you stable AS for your ult and for your jungle clearing aswell.

Power Treads

Movementspeed, more attackspeed and the ability to switch stats. What else do you want? The strenght
will make you really tanky and the intelligence will give you more mana for the ultimate. You will love the boots. Believe me.

Drum of Endurance

Well the Drum of Endurance is one of the best item if you look below the 3000 gold mark. It gives you good stats. It has a great active for chasing and kiting power. You will love it for the strenght and intelligence but also for the other stats. Just an item you really need to get into the later stages. Also you and your creeps gain much needed movementspeed boost.

Aghanim's Scepter

Aghanims Scepter is one of the key items for an Enchantress. It's not only for a pubstomp/semi-carry Enchantress. Even a support oriented Enchantress goes well with an Aghanim's Scepter. The range and damage you get for your ultimate will help you to stay back in teamfights and deal huge amounts of damage in a short periot of time. Also the stats will get you everything you need and want. Just an epic item for an epic hero.

NOTE: IT'S PURE DAMAGE!!!

Scythe of Vyse

Scythe of Vyse gives much needed stats and just a manapool/regen where you will kinda never go out of mana. Also it provides one of the best/the best CC in the entire game: Hex. It will turn your foe in an pig for 3.5 seconds. No attacks. No spells and a slow. It's just so strong CC and Scythe is so strong, you can build it on every hero and you are never wrong. If a carry for example wants to kill you, you have a passive, tankyness and a hex to destroy his AA's.

Heart of Tarrasque

Heart of Tarrasque gives you even more tankyness because of the health it gives you and the amazing health regeneration who everybody likes and loves to have. It can be changed with Scythe of Vyse if you think you are getting focused alot and so on. But you will love the Heart of Tarrasque Scythe of Vyse combo.

This build will solve most of the weaknesses Enchantress have and it will boost her to the top. If you learned how to use the build and to build it, you will gain a strong weapon in your games and you will love it for sure!

Yes, this build is quite expensive but you have strong dmg, Midas and a endless farming ability in your jungle so get used to it. Also ganking helps a lot!

Team Work

Enchantress is a really great teamfight hero. If you picked some items you can stand behind in teamfights and deak your dmg with your ultimate. First of all you need to activate your heal if you think you will get instantly focused but only then.

As I mentioned already you will getting focused often with spells and disables so you should start the heal really early. Don't forget even if you are a carry you can use your heal supportive and give you and your team a little advantage.

Your slow will help you to set your damage with your ultimate. Also it will give you space to get the carrys away.

Don't forget you can get creeps with your Enchant and you can use them properly. Sometimes a good stun or slow will give you and your team a huge advantage.

POSITIONING IS KEY!!!

Especially when you don't have enough items to tank you need to care about you and your positon. Even if it's fairly easy to play with Enchantress you need to get when to go in or when to give the damage to your foes. It will take you a while but you will get into it and you will learn how strong Enchantress can be.

Creeping / Jungling / Microing

Well if you know already Enchantress can Enchant a creep or two. 80 seconds can you hold your creep so a bit faster thinking about the things you want to do it is necessary to fullfill the effectiveness of you and your creeps.

I don't know if you already know which creeps to get more and which creeps aren't that good.

But first of all we want to talk about micromanaging. Micromanaging isn't that hard with Enchantress because you have 1 or 2 creeps at a time.

Imporant: Be calm and concentrade!

Learn to deal with one creep and learn it how to gank with bots. It's not imporant that they move or not. Then try it with two creeps.

You need 4 groups for your micromanaging.

1. You & your creep(s)
2. First creep
3. Second creeps
4. Both creeps

(You don't need to have the first one because you can make unified units but there are other videos about that just search for it.)

These groups will help you to succeed in micromanaging. Just get a good feeling for your keys and then micromanage the creeps.

Well but which creeps are good for you more and which not so good?

Well I will show you:

First of all you need to know which camps are these good creeps? This is the answer:

There are this creeps:

Troll Warlord camp

Troll Warlord
