Traxex the Drow Ranger is a ranged Hard Carry who excels at laning. She is fragile, but is capable of hitting opponents with high DPS. Her first ability, Frost Arrows, adds a slow to her attack for the cost of a small amount of mana. If she manually cast Frost Arrows on an enemy hero, it will not attract enemy creeps or towers - so with skill she can continually kite a Hero until they die. Her second ability is an area of effect Silence which can be crucial during teamfights. Her passive ability gives all ranged nearby heroes a damage bonus, and her Ultimate improves her Agility passively.
Traxex, like most Carries, have a simple vibe to them but require extensive knowledge of the game to be effective.
Hello everyone. This is my first guide ever,so I hope you will be able to learn something from it. I would also like to point out that my native language is not English,so I apologize in advance for any possible mistake. I'm 16 years old, I live in Croatia, and I have been playing DotA for 3 years. The reason I decided to write this guide is because there are many guides for Drow ranger on this website, but I didn't find any of them informative enough, and I really like Drow in general. Infact, she is my favourite hero.
Advantages
+ Ranged
+ Becomes strong early on
+ Reliable slow (50% is nothing to joke about!)
+ Game-changing silence
+ Not really hard to play with, but greater skill you have, more you will be rewarded.
+ Good ganking potential due to long silence and powerful slow
Disadvantages
- Weak earlygame
- Easily gankable
- No escape mechanism
- Semi-item dependent (She is still strong without much items, but you can't carry if you are not farmed)
When to pick Drow ranger:
- You need a reliable carry that becomes strong early on
- You want to have gamebreaking affect on the game (silence for 6(!) seconds)
When not to pick Drow ranger:
- Your team already has a hard carry
- Enemy team has a lot of gankers/tower divers that can screw up your early game.
So that is my style for playing Drow Ranger. Any feedback is greatly appreciated as I am very willing and able to learn!
Important things to remember for Drow are:
- work on last hitting
- work on staying in the lane through being mobile
- communicating and orchestrating ganks
- casting silence at appropriate times and catching as many people as possible
- recognize when to auto cast Frost Arrows and when to not
- try not to initiate fights or be at the head of the group
Thank you very much for reading and may your Drow playing skills increase greatly! Enjoying Traxexing down your enemies!
