Vanguard is a pretty inefficient item, for what it gives you. Damage block is calculated before armor and your ability reduction, so it scales pretty badly. I would rather get an early vit booster to save for a heart. Your regen needs can be covered by a hood, which is a very good pickup anyways.

I would put Ring of Health in Early game, the regen is very useful. For mana problems, I tend a grab a Ring of Basilius ASAP. Quill Spray is a great spammable harass but you run out of mana quick. Personally think Lifesteal items are pretty useless on BB unless you're getting Armlet of Mordiggian. Radiance is a waste IMO, unless you're getting tons of farm, which you shouldn't unless you're carrying. Skull Basher works really well on BB, and you can build it into an Abyssal Blade late-game for the extra damage. +1

Yeah, I always end up coming up a bit short on the carry build when I play it, because by that point, the game has usually ended. I'll add it in though, as I have tried it before.

Armlet of Mordiggian isn't a bad item on Bristleback maybe you should consider adding it.Although Im not sure in which of the 3 builds it would work best but I guess the "Carry" build .
