Bots Pushing Machine

Introduction

***THIS IS A TROLL GUIDE AND A JOKE***

Hello and welcome to my first guide on Drow Ranger. This guide is made to give you great push-ability with Drow, turning her into a pushing machine and semi-ganker, semi-carry.

This guide has been made mainly for people who like to play bots, but if you think you're a pro player, you can easily adapt it into any game you like. The recommended games for this guide, however, are passive, easy and medium Co-op bot games.

In this guide, I will discuss the best way I find to push lanes with Drow Ranger, explaining why you purchase the specified items, why you go for such a skill build and how you can drown, no pun intended, your enemies with the colossal damage per second (DPS) Drow is known for. This guide should shrink your game time dramatically and following it you will 99% of the time end the game before the 30-minute mark!

Pre-game

Start your game with a tango followed by as many slippers of agility as you can afford, that is 2-3. After that, you will spend the rest of your starting gold on iron branches.

Important note here that there MUST be a courier already purchased. If your team knows what they're doing, the supports will usually buy a courier, in some cases they also upgrade to flying courier. If your team does not buy it by the "30 seconds to battle" mark, you know they probably won't. This means that YOU will have to buy it. A courier is 150 gold, which means you would go 1 less slippers of agility in your starting inventory.

It is best to get a solo lane because you will need to level up as fast as possible. The middle lane is preferred because Drow Ranger is extremely squishy early on so going for the safe lane (middle) is a good idea.

Look out for two things though, DO NOT LANE AGAINST PUDGE! If you get hooked, it is insta-kill for the opposite team and the build is going to be delayed so much.
Same goes with Huskar. A good Huskar player is capable of killing the entire team with one ulti from him, let alone the squishy Drow.

Early Game

First of all, you want to buy a flying courier as soon as you get that 220 gold. The reason for this is that you will need to fill your inventory with wraith bands. For this build, you will be hogging the courier until you get your items specified above, that is about 3-7 minutes depending on how good you are at last hitting.

Speaking of last hitting, Drow has the second worst attack animation in the game, the worst being Lina. In fact, she is worse than Zeus by at least 3 places! The extra agility combined with your Precision Aura is going to compensate for the animation big time.

As for the skills, you always want to get your Aura as soon as you level up. This is guaranteed going to let you take the first tower once you get one level in your ultimate, usually around the 8-minute mark. If you cannot level your Aura, dump your levels into your attributes. Drow Ranger is one of those heros that cannot be effective without enough stats. When you can, get as much agility as you can. The wraith bands I think are a great stats item due to the extra health they provide. Trust me, by the time you fill your inventory with wraith bands, your health will exceed 1200 hp!

Once you got your bands, get a morbid mask. If you have been harassed so much in lane, your tangos should have been consumed by now, opening you a slot for the mask. The mask will provide you with a tonne of healing due to your extremely high DPS. Since you are not planning to gank yet, you should not have any Frost Arrows on you.

If you feel like ganking early on, or want first blood to boost your gold, or you have a squishy opponent, or if you just want to harass more in lane, get one level of Frost Arrows before your ultimate. The Frost Arrows, combined with Drow's insane range, you will get a kill off very easily when timed correctly. If you go for an early frost arrows, swap one of your wraith bands for power treads. The reason for this is that you will not get boots at any point of the game in this build and if you are well farmed, have good stats and Frost Arrows ready to pull off a gank, you will need the speed for chasing down the poor heros.

If you feel unsafe, or the opposing team has a lot of nukers, get a level in Silence BEFORE your ultimate, again because Drow is extremely squishy early on and will not be able to withstand even one nuke. The Silence will drive the opposing team so mad that 9 times out of 10 they will quit trying to gank you.

Last note though, NEVER EVER EVER PUT YOUR FROST ARROWS ON AUTO-ATTACK, unless you are chasing someone of course. If you want to harass, use the hotkey; that way you will not aggro the enemy creeps.

Mid Game-ish

Once you get your mask and your wraith bands, you would have already started pushing the second tower. At this point, your options start to open up a little.

If you do not have boots (see above chapter) and still feel like ganking, or you have them but want greater gankability, you will want to get a mask of maddness purely for the amazing chase-ability. It provides you with a **** load of movement speed (in fact more than phase boots), give you a crazy 100 extra attack speed for chasing (this combined with Drow's DPS makes it a game-changer) and a small upgrade to your lifesteal. When ganking, you need to make sure you can toggle your Frost Arrows on and off repeatedly.

If you have boots, or want to increase your farm dramatically, pick up a helm of the dominator. It provides you with extra damage (it never hurts to have more DPS), and let you dominate a creep. Your best choice is the neutral creep Alpha Wolf. This wolf will boost your damage to exceed the 250 mark easily since it gives you an aura that boosts your attack damage by 30%!!!
With this wolf, or with any other durable creep of your choice, or even without creeps at all, you are now ready to solo Roshan. If you have a wolf, let it sit back and you just tank Roshan and take him down in 30 seconds max! If you have another creep, you can let it tank for you while you deliver that crazy auto-attack damage.
If you do not have a creep at all, or have a mask of maddness instead of the helm, you will need to position yourself in Roshan's pit correctly. Since Drow has an insane range, she can hold her position basically anywhere inside the pit and keep auto-attacking. Position yourself so that Roshan will have to go back and forth to attack you, that is you need to stand as far from his pit as possible while still being able to attack him constantly. This means you should stand somewhere on the far end of that big blood patch.
If you think you cannot make it, either go to the Dire's ancients camp and lifesteal for a little while, or call one of your bottom laners to tank for you. Since your inventory is full, tell them they can have the aegis. You will not need it and should never ever get it.

Once your helm of the dominator or mask of maddness are complete, start building a yasha. It will give you the movement speed you want as well as some more of them lovely stats.
If you think you can do it, turn the yasha into a manta style for a crazy load of stats and the extremely useful illusions. Also the manta will be a great method of escape if you know how to use if properly.
If you do not have a good deal of gold, build a sange and yasha for the amazing stats and arguably one of the best passives in the game: Greater maime. The maime is not considered as an unique attack modifier (UAM) and hence will allow you some more gankability. Again, the key to success with Drow is stats stats stats. And more stats. And even more stats. Not only, they increase your survivability and damage, they provide your ranged team mates with a much helpful early damage increase thanks to your Precision Aura.

Note on team fights, you should not participate in them if you are pushing or do not have a manta for escaping. If you want to participate however, make sure you are a good distance away so that you can make full effectiveness of your ultimate.

End Game

Now that you have your core items, you should be half way through the third tower, if not the game should be already over! If you happen to be getting ganked all the time, it is never too late to get that manta.

Take your pick now from the items listed above.

Butterfly goes without explanation and is the preferred item to get. In fact if the game lasts longer than one butterfly, get another one!
Daedalus however, is kind of an overkill. Sure you will be slaughtering enemies like mad and sure the critical does help your illusions in case of a manta, but they do not affect buildings at all!
Black king bar would also be kind of useless. I does provide you with great survivability against nukers, but you should already have enough Silence to shut them down.
Desolator is an ok choice as the minus armour will help you push even more, but you already have lifesteal. If you have enough health, you can safely discard your lifesteal and get on pushing, careful to avoid conflict as usual.

Well, that's it from me on this guide. I am new and fully open to criticism and comments. Nothing like a good commenter and mentor to help newbies. Thank you and have a lovely game!
