Introduction

Elder Titan, formally known as Tauren Chieftain, marks the last of the high impact competitive heroes to be ported over to DotA 2. In this guide we will outline a good initiator build for him with a little helping of support just to put the icing on the cake.

Skills

===Echo Stomp===
Elder titan will and his Ancestral spirit will stomp on the ground dealing 80 physical damage from titan and 80 magic damage from the spirit in an AoE around these units. This will also knock out enemies that are hit for 5 seconds.
Echo stop cost 145 mana and has a 15 seconds Cooldown.

====Ancestral Spirit===
Ancestral spirit is a target point ability that will summon a spirit for 8 seconds. While the spirit exists it will deal 240 damage to any units he passes through. When spirit returns to titan, Titan gains 1% movement speed and 12 damage for each creep and 5% move speed and 40 damage for each hero the spirit passed through.
The spirit is controllable and has the move set Echostomp, Return Spirit and natural order.
Ancestral spirit cost 110 mana and has a 16 second cooldown. The spirit can also be called back by activating the ability again when he is out.

===Natural Order===
Natural order is an aura that reduces enemys base armor and armor gained from agility by 80% and reduces their magic resist by 26%.

===Earth Splitter===
Titans ultimate is Earth Splitter, a target point ability that will create a crack in front of Titan that will explode after 3 seconds. When it explodes enemy units in the affected area are slowed by 50#% for 5 seconds and take 17.5% of their max health as physical damage and another 17.5% of their max health as magic damage.
Earth Splitter has a 100 second cooldown and cost 175 mana.

Skill Build

Echo stomp is take at level 1 as a 2 seconds disable is just too good to pass up that early in the game but then your ancestral spirit should take priority. So we dont take Echo Stomp again until level 4, 8 and 9.

Like I said Ancestral spirit is your main priority because its you main damage source so we max it first taking it at 2,3,5 and 7.

Natural order is maxed last as even thought this is a great aura Titans other 2 abilities are just better because of this we can afford to take Natural order last picking it up at levels 10, 12,13 and 14.

Earth Splitter is unbelievable good take it whenever possible at 6, 11 and 16.

Item Build

Starting out we take pretty standard items for a strength hero 2 iron branches, 2 gauntlets, a healing salve and a set of tangos.

After some laning upgrade the Gauntlets to an urn of shadows and get your boots of speed. After that your inventory is pretty full so get those iron branches turned into a magic stick.

You are a strength hero who relies on casting spell, mana will be an issue so turn your boots in to arcanes.

Now since youll be involved in almost every team fight you should get the mek for your team. The active heal is excellent every team need one the additional 5 armor will also give you a little more effective HP and the regen is just bonus.

Since you will be playing a 3 position your item progression might fall off her but if you are doing well and the game is still going. Your next big purchase should be an Assault Cuirass. The aura goes well with Natural order and again the armor is great for you.

For your final slot you will want a Heart. Massive health boost and massive health regen allows you to get back into fighting condition in no time.

Gameplay

When laning youll want to take the hard lane with a ranged stunner. Your main goal in the laning phase is to get levels/farm really fast. You should be using your spirit to farm but keep an eye on your mana.

In the mid game youll want to have your arcanes and urn up before you start looking for team fights. Use your AS to run through creeps wave while they are running in a line this will maximize your bonus damage on the return.

Remember that your Ancestral spirit can also cast echo stomp so casting this in front of a retreating hero during a chase then stomping will stop him in his tracks confirming the kill.

In the late game you are your ultimate. You can single handily win any team fight if you can lad Earth Splitter. Unfortunately you have that 3 second explode timer. Because of this youll need to rely on either your team to set up everyone in the right places, Think Magnuss RP or Enigmas black hole. If your team hasn't got a big disable like this then its down to you with your echo stomp or rather your spirits echo stomp. Since Echo stomp will put the enemy to sleep for 5 seconds its more than enough time to get your Earth splitter off.

Summon your Spirit among your targets, Echo Stomp then Earth Splitter right down the middle of them. You will have to also ask your team to make sure they dont wake up the enemy team. (Turn radiance and the like off.)

Silencer HE WILL ruin you as a strength caster he can drain your intellect while keeping you silenced with his Last Word and global scilence.

Heroes with additional armor will nullify your natural order/AC reductions.
