Introduction

Hello, my steam name is Tod and I have been playing DOTA for a year and a half. I am a position 1 player most of the time and Alchemist is one of my favorite carries because of the ability to attack insanely fast with his ult and have one of the lowest base attack times if not the lowest. In this guide I will always assume that you have complete free farm and teammates that know what they are doing.

Alchemist explanation

Alchemist is a hero that depends on his ult a lot. It gives him the lowest base attack time in the game and at lvl 3 the health regen makes you hard to kill without very fast occurring nukes. Alchemist has the possibility to be the fastest farmer in the game with Greevil's Greed. He may not kill the most creeps but he gets the most gold from them. With 6.84 update you can now give your teammates aghs. So you are never done farming until you are 8 sloted and all of your teammates have aghs.

Pros / Cons

Pro:

    Farms very fast
    With ultimate
Chemical Rage he attacks very fast and is very hard to kill
Can give everyone on his team 7 slots and a free aghs
can go on ganking missions with Unstable Concoction
Is perfect for players that love greed

Con:
    Bad laner
    Kitable
falls off because he is a strength carry
    Very ultimate based

Skills and Skill build

[[Acid Spray]
This ability lowers armor in an area and deals damage.
Good for taking stacks and waves. Helpful for ancient stacks

Unstable Concoction
This is a stun that is channeled and the longer you channel it the longer the stun and the more damage. However, if the timer runs out it stuns you.
Try to hold it as long as possible but above all else don't stun yourself.
If you have a Shadow Blade or silver edge, you can start the channeling of the stun and then go invisible, the channeling will still go.

Greevil's Greed
MONEY
This skill increase the amount of gold for each creep. The bonus gold increases with the more continuous creeps you kill. You wan't to consistently kill creeps in order to get the maximum bonus. So basically, always farm and let the money pool in

Finally, Chemical Rage
Your ultimate gives you bonus attack speed, one of the lowest in the game, higher move speed, and very good health and mana regen.

Items

Starting Items:
Ring of Protection gives you armor which is very helpful because Alchemist starts with 1 base armor.
The Queling blade is just a farming tool and tangos because you need some regen.

Early items:
As Alchemist, I like getting the first bounty rune with the 4x bonus of Greevil's Greed you can get a 3:30- 4 minute midas. The farming tool is great with the farming ability to farm so well. The attack speed also works well.

Boots

Personally, I like power treads because of the attack speed but phase boots are good for chasing ability and damage. However, if you go for battlefury, then you don't need the phase boot damage.

Post Midas

I am a fan of being very greedy and getting Battlefury. This allows you to farm stacks and use Greevil's Greed to the max extent.
You will eventually get Assault Cuirass for the attack speed and armor.

Luxury

BKB is always needed if the enemy team has lots of magical damage.
Abyssal Blade is good for the lock down and the damage
Silver edge combos well with your stun because if you channel then silver edge, you can be invisible while you are channeling Unstable Concoction. If there is a great passive on the enemy team the break is very nice.
Mjollnir is an alternative to battlefury.
Moon shard is a great 7 slot item but other items are more cost efficient.

AGHS

Buy aghs for your teammates once you are six slotted. However, if you just want to farm forever, buy an aghs for a tempo controller, like Timbersaw or Qop, you can give them an early aghs while you just fight.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d97Y2Km6vlE This is an example of giving an aghs to an early tempo controller and how that worked well. However, most of the time you should give yourself the items first

Summary

Alchemist can farm extremely fast and get a large advantage early. Pre-6.84 he would fall off after the other carries caught up. This is still true about just him. However, with the ability to give aghs to teammates he can gives his teammates and extra slot and items. He can take his team pretty far into the late game.

Alchemist is about one main thing GREED. Always be greedy because your farming speed will give you a huge advantage over the other carries. Get ahead and stay ahead by getting 8 slotted. Have fun swimming in money.

Tod
