Yeah, you should be maxing Lightning Storm first. It's an extremely spammable nuke that gives amazing wave clear. It's a more reliable source of damage than maxing the stun first. Also with the cooldown, it's just the best skill all around.

Diabolitic Edict only needs a value point early on to really help push down towers, it doesn't need to be maxxed.

As for the item build, it's usually good to go Shiva's Guard into Octarine Core since, the lifesteal is so much better with the added damage mitigation.

I don't claim to know a lot about the inner mechanics of DotA having just over 250 hours, but isn't Leshrac's standard mid build max Lightning Storm first?

Because it's what gives him rune contention and lane control?

Or am I just being dumb.

The formatting isn't bad, but I would recommend adding color. You can also do: Leshrac by adding [[]] around any skill, hero, or item.
