Tried Oracle, but it's hard even with the high attack range. Because of the low base dmg you need some early dmg item like null, but you also need a lot of sustain because you're so squishy.
Overall I think a tanky hero like Tide/Bristle/Centaur is still much better suited as offlaner.
The only instance I'd go for a squishy offlaner is if their safelane is very weak.
Lich is a good hero to get your win rate up because no matter what you are putting your team in a good position in the mid game period by reducing the exp their carry gets, hopefully getting a support item like Mek, and not getting ganked (hopefully).
The only problem with Lich is that this advantage has to be taken advantage of. You need team fights in the mid game and you don't want to let their carry catch up on farm. In pubs it can be hard to get a team that really gets this.
Any sort of long range stun on a Lich will be a counter to him in the offlane. In trilanes, he would easily be zoned out and he would not be able to sap the exp from the carry too significantly apart from his sacrifice every 20-30 seconds. Lich and Bane are way too squishy and there are more viable offlaners that could take advantage of the extra exp and levels
