Diffusal blade Windranger?

Is it Diffusal Blade viable core on Windranger?
I mean-she can just stun,ult,burn all of enemy's mana in mere seconds and slow if needed. Also the item gives some intelligence. It should give her a good killing potential early.

Just do the comparison with Rod of Atos, and you'll see that Atos is better in every possible way. It even got buffed!

Phantom Lancer gets Diffusal primarily for the mana burn, not the slow(bc he has one already on very low cooldown). That is the case on Windranger too. She can burn mana extremely fast, making their supports useless and their carries easier to kill(they will have no mana for their escape skill, if they have one). If I wanted only slow, I would get Atos.

^ Not exactly. Phantom Lancer gets Diffusal Blade for the damage. It adds 25 damage to the attack of every illusion, which essentially triples the right-click damage of his illusions, since with their horrible 16% damage hit for about 8 damage a hit at that stage of the game. Besides PL is an agility hero. Agility is useless on WR.

Single target Mana burn is pretty much useless. Even Nyx's Mana Burn is used as a scaling nuke, not as a way to remove mana.

Even against heroes you WANT to burn mana like Wraith King or Medusa... Necronomicon.

Also compare with Maelstrom. Maelstrom : 30 AOE magic damage on average on each hit. Diffusal : 25 single target physical damage on each hit.

No seriousy I'm tired of arguing in those threads on diffusal WR. Just making it clear that diffusal WR for me is complete garbage and should never be done. AGI items suck on INT heroes, is that so hard to understand?

It is situational, it would be good with a desolator, but you would be the poor man clinkz
It could be good if you offlane and need to counter omni or warlock, or against a heavy magic damage line-up
also it give utility if you do 4 position rich support, but MoC still is better in every way

it just gives very low damage to an item that has an actual chance to proc something like crit or MKB.

deso is also severely outclassed by crit or MKB.

You will never burn enough mana for it to matter before just killing the hero. I bought diffusal in one game against a Wraith King and it was useless. From full HP and mana, I would focus fire and kill him, not burning enough mana to even remove his ult. So long story short, just get more damage.
