When I was younger, I loved pokemon. Now days it doesn't seem like they even try anymore.

I think pokemon started getting just weird starting the fifth generation.
However, that generation brought a few new things, like no more annoying low health beep, and reusable TMs.

I agree, I've played generations 1, 2, and 3 and loved them. The forth generation is where it kinda lost me, but I have played a bit of it, and it's pretty good. When the fifth came out I bought it, but couldn't even get past a few hours of play, it was just that bad.

Emerald was the peak of Pokemon. Now the have all these 3D stuff and crazy plots, and really bad names. I mean, Clink, Clank and Clinkclank? Wtf?

Though gen 3 was also my favourite generation for the most part (though gen 4 was my favourite competitive gen), I have to disagree.

1. Crazy plots? Pokemon isn't about plots, and if you ask me, the ones in the likes of Gen 2 and that were horrendous. I assume you've at least played them.

2. There's nothing wrong with it being 3D and it doesn't change the experience or mechanics.

3. Of the top of my head - "Rattata". From Gen 3 - "Solrock" and "Lunatone". All they do is say what it is and/or make a phonetically pleasing sound. It has always been this way.

4. This is just something you think because you enjoyed gen 3 most. Firstly, that doesn't mean anything is worse. All it means is you have a bias towards it because it will either have a special place in your heart through enjoyment, or you nostalgia so hard you think stuff that's new is bad (this happens all the damn time in different contexts).
