Community Cup #1

You've been waiting and we've been working on bringing tournaments to DOTAFire but the wait is over. We're finally ready to kick off our first Community Cup! We hope you're prepared, because for the following 2 weeks players from our community will gather and form teams, but only the best teams will have the chance to overcome the competition and win prizes!

No more talking, gather your team or find one in our Matchmaking section and let's enjoy some quality DotA!

Registrations are open starting from today (July 12th) and will end Saturday (July 29th).
The tournament will begin Saturday (July 29th) at 17:00 CEST / 08:00 PST.

What Can We Win? The best three teams will win one of the following prizes: 5 $30 (USD) Steam Wallet Codes - $150 5 $20 (USD) Steam Wallet Codes - $100 5 $10 (USD) Steam Wallet Codes - $50 But that's not all, a random participating team will be picked to win 5x Warhammer: Treasure of the Old World.

How Can We Participate? Each member of the team must have a DOTAFire account. The captain must create the team on our website and have all team members fully registered and filled out on the roster (the invitations must be accepted via PM). Once all the players are on the team, you must register the team on our Tournament page. That's it! The last thing you have to do is check-in 30 minutes before the matches begin, so start practicing!

What Are The Rules? All the tournament rules can be found here, but here are these are the main rules that you need to know before signing up: The final match is best of three while all the other matches are single elimination. The default server of this edition is Luxembourg. However, if both teams agree to play on another server, they can do so. You can have 2 substitutes for your team; however they must be announced to the opposing team beforehand. This tournament is not limited only to the European players, anyone can join as long as they can play on the default server. There is no maximum number of teams that can register. All the matches will be played throughout the tournament day.

Fine Print Registration starts today (July 12th) and ends in two weeks from now (July 29th). Open to registered DOTAFire members only. Not a member? Register now and create your team! Tournament is worldwide, however the default server is Luxembourg. Prizes are awarded through Steam trading. Winners will be notified by email after the tournament is over and will have 7 days to claim their prize.

Hey great initiative! Would it be possible to find a way to accommodate our SEA players though so they don't have to play on the Lux server?

I'm from EU myself but I know we have a lot of SEA players that are very engaged and maybe they would be interested, but not at a big disadvantage.

Hey!

It's difficult to pick a server that's comfortable for everyone, right now the default server is Luxembourg but there are going to be cups that will have other servers as defaults, servers that will be better for NA and SEA.

Till then, feel free to tell us all your suggestions and the servers that you think are best to be selected as default. :)

Also, don't forget that if the teams agree upon changing the server, they can do so without issue.

Hades, is there anywhere we can watch a stream of this? or can we have permission to sit in the spectator seat if we're there when the games start?

There are some people that volunteered to stream, if they do so they are going to post their streams in our videos and streams section.

Also, since the matches must have spectators enabled, you can watch any match that's being played.

Are all the matches being played on Jul 29th?
