new player wondering about life after bots.

Hey guys, my name is Rich. I am 26 from the uk and I'm a very new player to Dota 2. I have been playing with two of my friends (who have both played less than me) for about 2 or 3 weeks now. We usually play with Medium bots, but I have found that I can just about win a Hard match due to the AI being more skilled than my two friends who play.

I am looking to take the leap from comp stomping to playing for real. I have a limited grasp of the games mechanics but I feel that I would learn much more from an actual game rather than just beating the computer time and time again.

I have heard the community 'can' be a bit rough with new comers so I was wondering if anyone out there would be kind enough to let me tag along in some low level games and teach me the ropes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I know it's easy to get an invite to Dota 2 but I have about 20 copies in my steam inventory just sitting there, so if anybody needs one...

ok so, if you feel confident with a hero go with it in a pub, practice it, find out where it falls and where it excels, once you understand the hero totally it is 'mastered' and dont give a **** about those people who rage at you, take it as a lesson and if you ever find anyone who is willing to correct you, then go for it.

Yeah, probably about time to give it a go. Just don't expect too much from yourself, give it your best shot and see what happens - it's all a learning experience. Yep, and definitely pick a hero you're comfortable with!

I never played bot games, only pubs from my first game. Idk how could some1 be worried about playing with other people, especially when it should match you with people with skill close to yours.
