This is the in house section, here we will announce all the competitive and non-competitive in houses and competitions we are going to host!

Rules:
  • An in house must have at least 10 participants in order to happen, else the in house will be cancelled.
  • An in house must be announced in this section at least 5 days before the play date.
  • In case you want to host an in house of yourself, ask for permission from Hades4u.
  • If you want to join an in house, make sure you can show up in time and you won't miss it, please don't join an in house if you can't make it!
  • In houses will mostly happen so people can have a good time and practice, don't take it too seriously, be respectful to everyone!

1. How will we choose captains for both teams in Captain's Mode?

2. Will we have to put our DOTAFire account name near our Steam account name if they are different so that we can recognize each other?

1. We'll decide in game, every player must agree upon a captain or we'll just do it by who has the most wins or something.

2. Well, usually wearing the same name on Steam that you have on DOTAFire would make you easier to recognize :P

I wholeheartedly accept the most win proposal 8{3

FEAR ME HADES!!! I can make you play Crystal Maiden if I want! >8{D

Seriously though, if it's Captain's Mode, don't expect the Captain to give you the Hero you want, expect them to give you the Hero that's needed.

In my first game in the UKDOTA inhouse league, I wanted a Support I was familiar with. I got Support Tusk in an Aggressive Tri-Lane...and I hadn't played Tusk since the Snowball rework...needless to say, I failed, I fed, I screwed up hard!...we still won X{D

Don't worry if you're dealing with something you haven't dealt with before, chances are, those of you that haven't played in a lobby game with 6 or more 4k+ players are going to struggle to keep up with the most basic of things like Positioning, Map Awareness, but that's the good part! You're playing in a game of far higher skill and coordination than most 5k Pubs, it's...humbling to say the least, but it's also a great learning experience and everyone will have a good laugh in the end.

Remember, watch the replay. If someone is absolutely rekking, look at their point of view by setting the camera to "Player Perspective" try to see how you could have turned it around, avoided them, or at least minimised the damage. Try to get inside their head and learn what they check for? what lets them know they can make the plays that they make? how do they react in certain Situations?

This ^

It's fine if it's a little different, e.g. you have a Team Tag/Hash Tag/etc. in your Steam Name, but it would be confusing if you were expecting to meet "DzikaPanda" and ended up getting a friend request from "Tony Pasterino", who everyone else calls "Xalteh". 8{3

Just thought of a big one...what will we use to communicate? Teamspeak? Skype? Ventrilo? or In-game Mics?

Also, can we have the replays uploaded to Youtube. It'll be awesome to look back and think "lol, I fed sooo hard" X{D

I vote for in-game mics.

Well, I don't actually have a good mic, and not really sure if I'd want to use voice chat. I can maybe work something out but it's kinda awkward for me.

Yeah, I'd say either In-game or Teamspeak, Skype would be a pain in the arse with friend requests everytime we jumbled the teas around...and I could never figure out Ventrilo ._.

You don't have to speak if you don't want to, the point is that if we use Mics, we can communicate better, i.e. the Tri-Lane Core can just press a button (or not) and say "Gank Mid" if he feels he can hold his Lane by himself, but that Mid could use some extra help. Whereas typing "Gank Mid" would probably cause him to lose a Last Hit or 2.

We'll use the in-game chat and voice chat, it's not a must to use the voice chat.

About the replays on youtube, well, depends if someone is willing to record the matches :P.
