Lore
Emeralds. Rubies. Diamonds. Amethyst. Each and every one of these crystals (and more) can be found deep in the lost king's treasury. The wealth of an entire kingdom was contained in the vault, and had been enchanted with the most powerful protective wards. The real defence, however, was what seemed to be a large mountain of crystals.
The king had deteriorated and become slightly delusional near the end of his life, and grew so paranoid he ordered his treasury guarded by the most forbidden of magics. The spells that allowed regular mages and spellcasters to create life out of any inanimate object.
Diamond body. Emerald eyes. Crystal Golem. Until the start of the Battle for the Ancients, R'yle had stood motionless in the forgotten kingdom, guarding a vault that nobody knew about except him.
Then a battle was brought into the plains that once were a mighty kingdom. The two opposing forces fought for days, with the Radiant soldiers being pushed slowly backward, into the hill that the vault lay; They found a gargantuan crystal formation, so still that it looked like a sculptor's finest work. The moment the Dire forces came over the horizon, the small consciousness inside the Golem registered a threat. Someone who might compromise the vault......... It is said that only the Radiant side had any soldiers left by the end of the following battle.

So yeah, breaking the trend (that I set :O) by making this guy. As you can tell, he's designed to push teamfights into your team's favour by locking down areas with AoE traps and ally buffs, but can handle himself just fine.
Awesome hero idea! The lore is especially well-crafted. But after all is said and done, it's.......
BALANCE TIME!
Sharp Skin is a little weak damage wise, even in the late game. I suggest that you increase the initial damage slightly, and give it a damage-over-time effect, maybe 20/30/40/50 for 3 seconds. This will make it more relevent early-game. Overall, I think this hero is supposed to play out like Axe or Bristleback: the longer you survive, the more F'ed up your opponent will be, so perhaps it could even deal damage over time to enemies that simply stands close to him. I think that really fits his playstyle.
Love the Crystal Trap, but you should increase the initial AoE of the crystals, like 210/240/270/300, or it won't be so useful on early levels. You could also give this a slow if you'd like.
AAAAAAAAAAAH Roar is so good :D.
The Ultimate is a little too good, though. Even if it restricts you to an area, a 120 damage bonus is too powerful. I think 40/60/80 is less imbalanced. The health regen is also too much, maybe you should remove it. It already gives allies a huge armor buff :).

Keep it up, Innovator!
Yeah, this guy is the same kinda play as BB or Axe. He's meant to really get in the midst of things, as most of his abilities are AoE.
Hm, I like him. I can't really understand how he is a carry, due to the fact most of his skills seem to be purely supportive of his teamates. I would say he's more of a tank/support/initiator. But I'd need to play him to be sure. He doesn't have any disable or damaging skill other than his Crystal Trap which won't really help deal much damage. But it's a good hero idea nonetheless. :)
