So, if you watch this game, you will notice that I, the Slark, got 2 rampages. You will also note, however, that our Dragon Knight abandoned very early (because, despite having 632 WON games of DotA, he still somehow thought that the Tinker was cheating). Now, since the DK dc'd, I got extra gold and essentially stomped the game. So, what I'm wondering is, with a lineup that benefits from gold and XP, why don't pro teams tactically disconnect to provide the carry with **** tons of farm?
Because if this ever started happening then the feature would be removed immediately. Because it would entirely unsporting, and defeat the entire idea of having a pro scene in the first place.
Also because the co=ordination present in pro play means that having a super farmed carry is not the only component to winning. That, and even if you get more passive gold ticks, good teams will find ways for punishing you of being short of a member.
Understand that what you are suggesting is not a valid strategy, this game just looks like you stomped them because you know 4 core line-ups and absolutely no way to lock you down, thus being the ideal line-up for you to stomp them.
In a progame this will never work unless one team gets severely outdrafted, but then they would probably win 4v5 even without the extra gold since the difference in skilllevel will be huge.
If youi look at progames from recent highlevel tournaments you will see how much of an advantage one player makes. That's why the death of one core often results in towers/raxes/throne being taken.
