Alright. Everyone can stop posting. I get it now;

1.Ward.
2.Non-Squishy hero who can survive combo.
3.Ward.
4.Relatively high-damage hero who can shut Pudge down.
5.Ward

Honorable Mention:
Ward

Axe is great. Playing axe you want to get near to enemy heroes.

1. You get hooked by pudge.
2. Everyone attacks you, so you have a lot of counter helix.
3. Pudge is low, so you can ulti him.
4. With the bonus speed you gain from ulti escaping is made easy.

+ Warding is the key of battle -> who has vision has power.

Lifestealer is the pinnacle of countering Pudge, or any strength hero for that matter. He just rips them to shreds.

The best hero to counter Pudge in mid, in my opinion, is Outworld Devourer. Remember, Pudge needs to get close to the creep wave to get last hits. Combine this with his low mana pool, and Astral Imprisonment will wreck him in lane. With 2 imprisonments, he will not have enough mana for a hook. Why is this important? Because, Pudge is a hero that needs to snowball in order to be decent mid-late game. If you shut down his laning phase, and not allow him to get ganks, he is a liability.

Make sure your supports have warded his rotations, and you win the lane hard as an OD, and Pudge can do nothing about it.

Also, there are a TON of other heroes that beat a Pudge in lane. Any team with competent warding should do well against a Pudge since it's his blind hooks that hurt. If you have vision on a Pudge, you take away most of his impact on the game.
