Vasyelis comes from a world with a very different reality than our own, capable of utilizing it to manipulate friend and foe alike. Mystic Rift makes her a large threat to spell casters and damage dealers alike, forcing opponents hit to play around these debuffs. With Conduit, she can remain high on mana while allowing her own spell casters to flourish. She can further aid them with Transference, turning her into a walking battery. Her true power comes from Aether Shift, a spell with extreme playmaking potential from saving allies to punishing enemies. Master the complexities and combinations behind her ultimate and make the most of her arsenal, the Aether Maiden may be just what your allies need and what your enemies fear.
Whenever she casts a spell, nearby allied heroes have their cooldowns reduced.
Ability: Aura Radius: 900 Mana Recovered: 15, 30, 45, 60% of Mana Lost Cooldown Reduction: 30% of Remaining
The Aether Maiden is a formless wonder, energy always readily flowing in and out of her being.
Notes
Mana gain aura triggers from allied and enemy heroes, but not herself.
Mana gain can trigger from spending mana, burning mana, draining mana and removing mana.
Mana gain will not trigger from direct manipulation such as Transference or Aether Shift.
Cooldown reduction aura benefits only allied heroes, but not herself.
Item spells do not trigger the cooldown reduction aura.
Item spells and ultimates will not have their cooldowns reduced.

Explanation for Aether Shift
If you didn’t quite grasp what it does or are unsure, here’s are some examples to understand her ultimate. Regeneration would still work, but is excluded to simplify calculations.
Example 1:
1. You start with 300/500 health and 200/400 mana.
2. Aether Shift is cast on you.
3. Now, your health is 200/400 and mana is 300/500.
4. You are healed for 50 health so now your health is 250/400.
5. You cast a spell that costs 100 mana so now your mana is 200/500.
6. You gain 200 mana so now your mana is 400/500.
6. Aether Shift times out.
7. Your health is returned to 400/500 and mana is 250/400. Example 2:
1. You start with 300/500 health and 0/400 mana.
2. Aether Shift is cast on you.
3. Since 0 is below the minimum, it will become 20% of 400 which is 80.
3. Now, your health is 80/400 and mana is 300/500.
4. You have 250 of your mana burnt so now your mana is 50/500.
6. Aether Shift times out.
7. Since 50 is below the minimum, it will become 20% of 500 which is 100.
8. Your health is returned to 100/500 and mana is 80/400. Example 3:
1. You start with 2000/2000 health and 600/600 mana.
2. Aether Shift is cast on you.
3. Now, your health is 600/600 and mana is 2000/2000.
4. You take 600 damage so now your health is 0/600.
5. You die.
6. Aether Shift is removed upon death so that's all folks.
Discussion
Mystic Rift can remove a whopping 40% of an enemy's mana over the duration at a high uptime, allowing her to drain enemies dry quickly. The damage delay aspect means that enemies will still deal their damage worth, but dealing no damage for the period allows Vasyelis and her team to capitalize on this opportunity. Early game, using Healing Salve in the middle of a duel can be devastating or make a last stand against a target to make them over-commit can turn around fights. With Conduit, she can even siphon back some of the mana spent to cast the spell if she stays near the targets, effectively relieving the cost. This abundance of mana can be put to good use with Transference by passing it to an ally who might need it more. The synergy of these 2 spells ensure a constant flow of mana. Ally casts spells to grant her mana, she refills their mana and casts more spells which reduces their cooldowns, so they can cast more spells, and so on. While she is barely a threat by herself, this constant cycle of spells being flung by her allies means that she enables them to become more dangerous. While Transference is nice to spam to keep allies going, sometimes holding onto it for the dispel can be just as important to saving their life.
Aether Shift is what defines Vasyelis. Its very presence makes Strength enemies suddenly much less durable, forcing them to forsake some regular tank items for more mana and Intelligence to avoid being blown up. In the same vein, farming with spells while an enemy Vasyelis is near becomes risky as she can flip the lesser mana for health and set them up for an easy takedown. Alternatively, it allows Strength allies to spam spells more freely at the expense of their own health akin to Soul Ring or makes Intelligence heroes much more durable akin to Mana Shield. When combo-ed with her other spells, she can perform some interesting feats. Here are some of them:
Heal an ally
Aether Shift ally -> Transference when you have more mana = Increased health instead of mana
Heal self
Aether Shift self -> Mystic Rift enemies and stay near them = Drain health instead of mana
Damage an enemy
Aether Shift enemy -> Mystic Rift it = Remove health instead of mana
Set an enemy up to die
Mystic Rift enemy -> Aether Shift it after the debuff ends = Start fight with less health
Burst heal
Transference ally -> Aether Shift it = Temporary burst of health
Save a life
Mystic Rift enemy -> Immediately Aether Shift ally = Damage lands on mana instead of health as it switches back to their original health
Life to mana
Aether Shift self -> Transference = Transfer health instead of mana to them
Makeshift Sunder
Aether Shift self -> Aether Shift ally -> Transference = Exchange health instead of mana
Not all of these are that nuanced or always applicable, but the good thing is that she can perform multiple of these combinations at the same time. Need to heal yourself and an ally? Need to burst heal someone and damage an enemy? Just want to keep someone perpetually on their flipped health? Go ahead as long as you have enough charges to pull it off. If you need to quickly remove Aether Shift to secure a kill or save a life, you have that option at the cost of expending yet another charge. All this means that managing charges becomes an important aspect of playing her well, much like Earth Spirit. Compositions can be built around her, as when paired with and against other heroes who can manipulate mana, things just become even more crazy. Turn Mana Leak into Rupture or vice versa, turn Mana Drain into Life Drain or vice versa, turn lifesteal into manasteal, the possibilities are there for your creativity to explore. As should be obvious by now, Vasyelis is very much intended to be the lovechild between Oracle and Keeper of the Light, revolving around mana and complex combos. So, expect her to be played with similar heroes who would enjoy her company and hate her very presence. Outworld Devourer is an example of a great ally for her to be with. As she herself lacks any disables, Vasyelis would do well to be in a team that can make up for this lack.
Like her inspirations, her role is very much hard support without any farming capabilities. In terms of her build, some of her combos hinge on keeping her allies alive for the duration of her ultimate, so protective items like Glimmer Cape and Medallion of Courage would serve her well. Bottle and Urn of Shadows that allow her to make use of the aforementioned benefit of Mystic Rift mid-fight can be worthwhile purchases. In terms of impactful talents, the strong dispel makes her very strong against certain compositions but the 2nd charge can be great for further enabling her team especially alongside Conduit, so choose wisely. The gold talent makes up for her inability to really farm but the health regeneration can help her survive fights especially with Mystic Rift without needing to cast her ultimate on herself thus saving charges. This can be alleviated by taking the Aether Shift talent at level 25 though the ability to hit all 5 members with Mystic Rift can be just as strong.
