The Way of Support

Hello guys, this is my first ever blog post in my life, so please be nice to me xD
Oh, and also don't mind my english, because it's not my native language xD

Hello, today i want to share my experience in DotA. I'm already play this game for about 7 years, since DotA 1. I want to share about some specific role that called support, the one who live under a lot of responsibility with so little gold in the pocket. Let's get it on!

THE WAY OF SUPPORT

So what is support? Well, support is a role where u are the most lowest priority to farm in ur team (position 4 or 5 in terms of farm). Your job is to make sure to buy the wards all the time, buy the courier, get the utility items (mekans, pipe) , make sure your carry can farm well and protect him, gank the mid lane and help the offlane in early game, pull the camp to make sure the enemy don't get gold and exp in lane, and harass the enemy and zone out them. Well, this seems like a lot of job but if you already used to it, you won't feel hard at all. The beautiful art from playing the support role is that you have to survive in this harsh world with so little money in your pocket, meanwhile giving protection to the team (vision, item) and you have to make sure all mana and hp that you have in your tiny hp/mana pool really used for the team.

WHAT DO U GOT FROM PLAYING SUPPORT?

Well, there's a lot of thing that u got from playing and learning this role. The most important thing that i realize really really useful for my DotA life is the communication skill. Support can't do anything without their team. They can't solo kill someone from full hp, they can't solo rosh (obviously xD), and many more. So communication between the team is important if u're playing support. The next thing that u got is the pride. When you support really hard that u almost cry, and you win that game, it's just a really really worth effort. Every money u spent for the wards, the courier, the sacrifice u make so that your carry is still alive, it's just worth it. Just try to play (ranked match recommended) and when you got that really hard game, it's just feels like "wow, what a game. really really worth it"

THE ART OF SUPPORT

Well, for me there's an art of playing support. For example, when u pull the creeps you ALWAYS pull it to 2 camps. In radiant, you can pull it to the upper one, or stack it 1st. In dire, you can pull it to the big camp in your south-west side or stack it 1st.
Why should we pull it to 2 camps? Because if u pull it to 1 camp, the creep won't die and it will stack to the next camp, and it will push the lane, then your carry can't farm and the enemy get the gold and the exp. It's just so important (at least for me) to keep the lane safe for the carry to farm.

So that's it. Please forgive me for my english, and if there's something you don't agree with me, tell me on the comment section. Good luck and have fun ! :)
