Why does DotA go in streaks?

Most of the games I lose; I'm playing only support to the trash heroes and am expected to do everything for them.

The games on which I get wins are when I'm playing on a balanced team and am either mid or offlane.

Seriously, most people don't understand the meaning of initiators.

honestly though here's my take.

you have a hidden MMR and when you win it goes up but you also have what i deem

"Positive gearing" applied.

and the more wins you get the higher your positive gearing is.

so say your hidden mmr is 3010 with +2 gearing. (where +1 is one win, +2 is 2 wins and so forth)

your going to be matched with people who have negative gearing.

so 3010 -2 gearing.

and when you win or lose your gearing changes as well.

now most people will win one or lose one or win two then lose two.

so your never going to be in high gearing territory.

BUT

if you do go on a win streak your gearing will be very high. Right?

so example 3100 +7 gearing.

and what will you be teamed with?

people with -7 gearing and who the hell would have that?

horrible players. people who rage quit or feed or just are in general pretty ****.

thus you go on a losing streak because the more you win the more you will be placed with really really bad players.
