Got a noob question here
I was talking to a friend a felo dota player and he told me that instead of rushing a blood stone on DP (like I always do) that I should be picking up a elus septer instead and if I need to tank latter a heart. What do you guys think??
it give her 150% mana regen only 50% off a bloodstone regen.
so not much difference there.
but the main reason why people pick it up is the active.
when you ulti in a team fight people will be focusing you so you just cyclone yourself and your spirits still deal damage while your out of the fight for a couple of seconds. the enemy will either focus someone else or take the damage your team is pounding on them.
the movement speed is really good on her as well and your going to be faster then most of your team early game so chasing fleeing heroes your going to be ahead of your team. when chasing you speed ahead of your team and cyclone the fleeing hero which allows your team to catch up to you.
and at half the cost of bloodstone you can pick it up really quickly in lane. allowing you the mana regen you so desperately need on dp.
overall its an amazing early game pick up on her.
i would suggest then deciding on either bloodstone or heart depending on what you find yourself needing more.
if you find your getting mana starved a lot then build bloodstone
if you find yourself dying to quickly in team fights even with euls. look at your positioning first and if its bad then i suggest heart. if its good and your just getting focused magically then i would build a BKB before anything else. if your getting focused physically then build an armour item then into heart.
I usually want to end up with both eventually, but I find myself picking up the Bloodstone first most of the time.
I used to always rush my Perseverance first because I could get it quick in lane and it gave me the sustain I needed for pushing and laning. Now that the buildup is a little different, I think the Bloodstone is quite a bit easier to make. The Soul Ring is actually really good on DP from what I've experienced, as it gives decent regen and the active lets you have an Exorcism whenever you need it.
If I'm just rolling, have a couple of kills by 10 minutes, or got free farm and a tower, then I will always go for a Bloodstone. It beefs DP up a lot, gives you all the mana you could ever need, lets you suicide if you get caught too close to a tower while pushing, and lets you rejoin the fight a lot faster when you die.
If the farm is rough and I happen to die a couple of times, I usually just go to the Eul's Scepter of Divinity. It's an excellent item on DP, and Smuggels pretty much covered what all it does. It doesn't give you unlimited mana like Bloodstone, but it's plenty to keep you away from the fountain for awhile.
