So yesterday, I played a game as a Faceless Void with a Warlock support in lane. As I was preparing myself to compete last hitting with my support in lane (because that is what ends up happening in pubs 90% of the time), the Warlock tells me that he'll stack the small camp and pull if the lane pushes out too far. Renewed with the presence of a capable support, I decided to build a Hand of Midas (since I might as well make the most out of a good lane). The laning phase went OK (we didn't kill them, but Warlock and I harassed the enemy Sven and Gyrocopter denying them most of the last hits). Eventually, I was five slotted in about 35 minutes, and we finished the game.

Now, this was one of my successful games, and the reason I asked for a critique on this game was that, I tried to imitate the pros as much as possible. I want to know where I can improve. My general playstyle was to farm the radiant safelane and the radiant jungle, while TP'ing to other lanes that were pushing in, and pushing those out, and when it looked like a fight would break out, I'd TP to the closest tower, and join with a Chronosphere.

If you folks can tell me things that I could have done better in that game, please do let me know.

P.S: Ignore my last death. At that point their ancient was at 1/2 hp, and I fountain dived them for fun. My score during the game was 13/2 for realistic purposes.

Start of game:
Hand of Midas isn't an item you want to be building against a lineup of 3 carries. You're building a passive item when you should be punishing their unbalanced team comp with early pressure. Skillbuild should have maxed Time Lock first. Extra range/CD doesn't make a major difference, but Mask of Madness plus maxed bash is a guaranteed kill every Chronosphere CD thanks to double-damage bashes. You also midas'd a jungle centaur without finishing the camp - small things, but it does make a difference.

10 minutes:
You could have had 2 lane kills by now if you had gone mask+bash build. Possibly could have had one even with your build (~9:35 in-game time). Don't hesitate to pop chrono for a lane kill, it's unlikely to be used for anything else at this stage. 41 last hits leaves a lot of room for improvement. 50 is a decent baseline to aim for in a moderately contested lane (~70 with total freefarm, as a reference).

You went back to base at ~11:00 when you could have used your last tango and sat in Warlock's Headdress aura. Another midas in jungle without finishing the camp at 12:30. Good TP+chrono to defend the top T1. Good solo kill on the Sven after he takes your bot t1 (~16:00). Right after this you walk by two half-camps that were caused by you not clearing camps, and you lose a bit of EXP on account of not having a big creep to midas.

At this point the game's firmly in your team's grasp (~7500 gold lead, ~3000 exp lead). Stopped here because I know that mine (and many others') playstyle changes when the outcome is close to guaranteed.

Main thing is efficiency - always clear camps after midas, unless they're in the enemy's jungle. Chrono is not ravage/blackhole - the CD is much more forgiving and you can and should use it to secure kills every time it's off cooldown.

Sorry if it seems a bit negative. Overall it was mostly good, it's just easier to spot the mistakes.

After a long week, I wanted to relax and try something entertaining. I needed a site that’s reliable and caters to Canadian users. That’s how I found Cowboys Casino, and I was glad I did.
