I just checked Dotabuff for some info and Earth Spirit doesn't have a single win-rate over 45%. Why? Does he need to be buffed by Valve?

That shouldn't effect the win-rate, only the pick-rate.

He relies too much on teamwork, which we all know doesnt come easy in solo que, I DO play him, but rarely.

I see. I've heard he is feared in the competitive scene. I guess that goes along with the teamwork thing.

pre nerf.... OP as F**k.

a good earth player pre nerf could pretty much Rockball into late game god <<(see what i did there, snow ball/rockball...ahhhh funnies anyway *ahem*)

the fact earth isnt first tier ban and pick is that they changed his geomagnetic grip a huge amount and nerfed his other skills a fair bit, he does have some serious utility in game though and i am suprised that we dont see more of him in the pro scene but i would think that has more to do with him filling a "Niche" spot where he doesnt really "Make" any team the team has to "make" him. my big question is though ....


why not solo offlaner or solo safelaner, ganking is crazy on him and in lane he has a escape and long range harass, the only problem is his mana issues, fix them up a bit and i think you will find him getting picked just a tad more ....


but for pub games ..... SKILL, he takes skill to play. i cant play him to save my life but i have a mate that just steamrolls with him he went 44-6 in a game once.

He also isnt a top tier pick becouse he isnt in captains mode :P

The biggest nerf was the swapping of grip and smash. The grip used to stun while the smash silenced. This pretty much gave him a psuedo flaming lasso at level 3 so you could roll in the free kills by instantly stunning enemies from long range then pushing them into your team. Now that they switched it you cant do it anymore. It was needed becouse that was OP as ****.

The low winrate was more to people sucking at him, becouse his winrate was also bad when he was OP.

He's not "hard" to use just takes time to work out and learn to play well. I believe it's more the fact he relies on good team communication and knowing how to use him in coordination with the teams heroes when to pull people out, etc.
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

the low winrate is because very few players truly know how to play him, In order to win you really do need to kinda construct your team around him, I think the bst way to play him is in the 3 role as a utility hero. He is as you put it "Hard" to play however he is not hard like meepo or invoker he is hard because you require really good knowledge, positioning and timing of your skils
