i dont like getting shadow blade on him, since he isnt that good at using it offensively and for defensive items id rather tank up with scepter, BKB or even mek.
point booster is really cost effective so id rather get that

ive seen too much useless vipers 'rushing' a shadow blade, getting it at 25 minutes. buying a shadow blade for almost purely defensive purposes is horrible, it just costs so much gold. to be honest id rather get a blink if i had to.
just tank up and let them waste spells and attacks on you, and position yourself better so you dont have to buy shadow blade.


edit: though im very happy you didnt include vanguard in your build.
