Hey guys I'm a 36 year old life long gamer. Recenty a little game called DoTA has taken over my life. I downloaed DoTA beta long long ago and was too intimidated to play it until about 2 months ago. Since the begining of August I have logged around 300 hours into DoTA. I'm borderline obsessed with it, when I'm not playing I'm listening to podcasts or watching games. Anyway after lots of work and abuse I've managed to get myself to where I"m not terrible at the game and this brings me here. I am looking for other people to play with, these people MUST first and formost me mature about what we are doing here I have a job a wife and a 5 year old son trust me losing a game of DoTA isn't the end of the world for me and it shouldn't be for you either. That being said you have probably never met someone as competitive as I am so winning is a priority. What I'm looking for is people of a similar mindset as me who don't rage over a mistake in a video game, who are looking to improve thier game and play some team games like Capt Mode and Capt Draft ect ect, people who can play multiple roles and just have fun. I'm getting frustrated with rage monsters and quitters, I know deep down there are people like me out there. I play usually every night from 8pm-midnight central time. I live in Illinois. Sorry I know the amount of text in here is a lot.
If this sounds like something you are interested in please add me on Steam. I hope to get some friends to play with, thanks for your time.
Good for you mate, this is my story, i am 24 yo and i play dota since 2006 then left it on 2009, lost interest since i hear dota 2 will be released. Imagine, i end up waiting so long that i had forgotten the game and some of my signatures heroes strategies. well, now this year watching some news about gaming, i notice Dota 2 is finally launch in Steam, with no doubt i decided to pick it up again, people think that i am pro for my years in dota but not good enough, maybe because i play only with few heroes.
Hello there, I am 26 and have been playing dota since it was on w3 RoC. I play casually as well and am tired of all the rage and "gg" and "ff" at 7 minutes. I try explaining to people that when you have picked last on your team and theres no support, you have to pick support, not the 5th carry. and that if you are in a team of carries by chance, everyone needs to buy wards. But all I get is "carries don't buy wards", lots of complaining, and no one buys them and we lose. I am looking for mature gamers as well. my user name on steam is also Greenteaman87. I am from America and speak english
Hello, 26 here, Canadian. Play too much, off and on, looking for about the same as you though I'm not on quite as much as you are by the sounds of it. I definitely prefer to play with a group of people that can talk civilly and such, so I added you. I'm done for the night tonight, but I shall probably be on for a game or two tomorrow :)
Hi cosmo, I am a dad of 15 month boy too. Got a similar situation, about 30, used to play WC-TFT in college and quit because of real life, you know it... Having heard of dota a lot, untll recently i noticed DOTA2 is free to play. Oh , gosh, never imagine that will happen. So, I dive in for this recent two weeks and had a great fun. But for the same reason as you did, confront a lot game rage, quiters, usually that will lead a lose. Skill-wisely, I am not that great at every character, because I only focus on playing one at a time. By now, I have played dragon knight, ursa and zeus, but these are vs bots, not pvp. I am in northern virginia, so we may have a hour time difference during the night. I play usually from 8 to 10:30pm est.
Damn everyone be making an introduction. Anyways ill keep it blunt and short with out trying to break anyways. 19, Canadian. I mainly play on USE/UEW depending on who im playing with since i play with players from both EU and the US. You're welcome to join me if your interested. I do warn you the people i play with do tend to get extremely competitive and bash each other in game but afterwards it dies down. If you're able to handle all the bashing you're all more than welcome to join me.
I'd very much like to play. I'm kind of the same way. I want a team that is serious but aren't childish. My playtime is half of yours but I'm willing to learn and get better!
feel free to add me as well man. steam id: mechajabo
I play most nights around 7pm-midnight (EST) if I'm home. Been playing about 1000 hours or so and feel comfortable with almost any role so flexible with what teams need in that "last draft pick" situation you're explaining. That's why I'm nervous picking carry on a random draft if I have first pick on my team, too many pubs just want to play carry all the time.
Hello I'm 30 as well and although I don't have kids I would like to play with you guys, just about tired of quitters or Russian/Chinese players who don't speak/communicate at all. I have 500hr exp and right now I've really gotten into the support role with Disruptor. Add me and lets test out a game I also play afternoon/night mainly after work so from 8 to 12 EST
