I'd suggest you to play some Dragon Knight or Storm.
Both are always useful through the whole Game.

Still I wouldn't say there is ''useful' and ''non useful'' heroes.It always depends on how much Farm you can possibly get to be efficient throughout the whole Game, with any Hero.

I suggest Pugna if you know how to farm,cuz it can be rly good as a carry and whit the right items and skill.
Huskar can be rly dominating whit some lifesteal and regen...
VIPER is awesome for begeners,or try bloodseeker...
Sniper can be good if you can stop ganks...

is pretty strong, his stuns are sort of luck based and has insane base damage early game. Although you need to snowball really well to get him to work.

is great too as his avalanche + toss combo wrecks soft heroes.

has a great KS ult early and is kinda insane mid/late game too.
