counterpick for abbadon?

Going to tuck that nugget of information away. I do enjoy me some Elder Titan. :)

The only hero i ever had a problem with while playing Abaddon was PA. She crits so harddddddd.

Axe IMO is a soft counter to Abaddon. Sure he gets to kill Abaddon on his ult but thats about it. Abaddon can use Aphotic Shield everytime Axe is going to use Battle Hunger on him. He will absorb about 200 damage and deal 200 damage every 6 seconds.

Does not help that Abaddon has higher Strength Gain than Axe. Abaddon also gets more AS and MS while Axe will get slowed by 20% on AS and MS. Counter Helix is a great skill but Abaddon is just so tanky.

What I personally do on Abaddon is get MoM, Eye of Skadi and a Sange Yasha. Maim and His Passive are not unique attack modifiers. Lifesteal and Skadi stacks on melee heroes even if the description says only for ranged heroes. http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Eye_of_Skadi

Even with just the MoM and the Sange Yasha you are getting slows on MS and AS about 50%

The true counter for Abaddon IMO is Outworld Devourer.

He will just sap all his intelligence. No Aphotic and Death Coil from him. His Arcane Orb will deal a good amount of Pure Damage. (I have done 300 Pure Damage hits) He can cast Astral Imprionment on him on his ultimate when it is up. Lastly, he can use his ult to kill Abaddon on half of his health.

Of course I also had problems with Shadow Demon and Bane but you could just focus them on teamfights.

How did no one mentioned Necrolyte?

Sure he can't duel. But in a TF, use ult while Abbaddon is already being focused, from 75%-100% HP. His HP should go down during the stun, and hopefully get around 45% before the scythe goes down, killing him before he activates his ult.

This might only work once, but it's still a possible counter.

If Abaddon's ult is on CD, then it's even better a nice execution.

but...

If Abaddon's ulti pops before Necro's ulti, he will be almost fully healed.
Leaving you, with a wasted ulti.

Best counter: kill the rest of his team, ulti runs out, kill him
Generally Necro does dirty things to him, the thing is he's tanky as hell he wants to be focused, blow the high damage nukes on everything else, catch him in your aoe, trigger ulti, stun, kill after ulti wears out.
Unfortunately this probably won't work in pubs when everyone's derp charging anything low health, and not very coordinated at all, but other than that, if he's low Necro, Axe, hmm I'm not sure on rupture damage? OD is solid too, Abby ults OD inprisons him.
Lifestealer too, he kinda doesn't care about Abby's ulti, I had this instance, I just used him as a punching toy, and later abyssaled him.

Can shadow demon purge it?
Bloodseeker can silence+rupture him and eats him
Ursa can burst him down, twice if he has too hell just do more damage anyway with his passive stacks.

Best counter: terrorblade, keep attacking him to full, swap, dead

Silence/doom won't stop passive activation and will be removed when he hits 400hp. Best to ignore him and kill his team, its not like he does that much damage anyway. He's basically a hero that needs to be focused to do well, but has no real way to make you focus him (unless you're in pubs).

Shadow Demon is a good option, wait until Abaddon activates his ult and then lock him up until Borrowed Time wears off
