So it seems to be that EVERY single game i play someone on the other team picks drow or pudge.

I haven't been playing long but these seem to be the "noob" picks in my opinion.

Was hoping if anyone could give me some advice on how to counter these heroes?

Also do the Drow and Pudge picks go down as you move up the brackets?

Yeah, they go down, but not too much.

The single ways to counter Pudge is to buy Observer Wards to always know where he is, so you can avoid his hook, and never stay in one place for too much time.

To counter Drow Ranger, you need disables like Scythe of Vyse, Heaven's Halberd, Abyssal Blade, etc. and to stay near her so she doesn't get her ultimate double bonus.

Essentially what Hades said, but wards are pretty standard for shutting down everyone. What makes it detrimental to Pudge is warding the runes and making sure he doesn't get any, and allowing you to foresee his ganks. To counter his ganking, you just stay out of range of his hook and make sure someone pressures middle lane while he's gone.

I don't see why everyone cries about Drow, she's not very hard to beat, she's just exceptionally easy to pick up and learn. She's just like every other ranged carry, you want to counter her? Pick an illusion hero, she's a single target hero. Alternatively, pick an assassin, she's exceptionally easy to gank.

Pudge is a pain if playing against someone who really knows how to use him. As the guys said above you just need HEAPS of wards. You also need to be "forest smart" and know where Pudge likes to stand. Report if he is missing because there is a good chance he is hiding in the trees nearby waiting to hook some poor hero that walks past.

These three summed up how to beat a Pudge or a Drow Ranger. Be careful, be sneaky, be smart, and, most importantly, be a bigger *** than either of them.

Force them to waste health items and spells whenever possible, while making sure you're not in the danger zone.
