So, lately, I've had two of my friends being put in low priority for obvious reasons.
Now, besides that the ques are alot longer (+10m SingleDraft/7-10 AP) which is understandable, I now wonder how the MatchMaking actually works in Low Priority.

Do the team get matched with other Low Priority players?
This is one of the biggest concerns and problems with Low Priority.
I'm all about the punishment for leaving/report issues, but the whole Low Priority match making kinda brings the player and the entire team to a down-going spiral.

The past few days, when we're not 5 premade friends, we've ALLWAYS got matched with close to ******ed people.
Not only are they russians who refuse to communicate, but kids that clearly don't belong in a multiplayer community, closes-minded freaks (Nothing is their responsibility), leavers and feeders.

I assume this is a known fact and issue with the Low Prio Match Making..

But the following question is if you are in Low Prio, do you get match-made against other Low Prio teams?
Both in gameplay and social capability it feels the total opposite.
The team is mainly mature, know how to play and can discuss in a normal manner.

As stated above, I'm all about the punnishment, but the system is clearly broken and destroys the gameplay-experience for those effected..

Offcourse we can just ditch the friend with Low Prio to get this out of the world, but I rather play with a friend that match with an extra random dude..

I've been trying to look for official description on how the Low Prio MM works in the game, but can't find any, so please share if you know something I don't.

I think yes, if you have low priority status, you get matched with other players with same status, it's logical, I think so.

Also, I played with Sarcyn once and he had Low Priority status, and we have been matched with 3 ******s in team, so I guess this is it.

Well, it's fair, matching leavers with leavers. I know it sucks, but at least you can still play, not like in other games.

I think the whole point of the low priority queue is to punish you, and I'm glad you find it harsh.

Generally, not very nice people get put there. These people are matched up with people like themselves.

It's like going to prison, you expect people who are also criminals, not high class people who usually wear suits and speak in RP.

I agree with what Xenasis is saying about how it is a good punishment if it's harsh. However, the time I was in low priority is because my internet crashed or whatever, and so it counted as an abandon. I was wondering if there is any way for Dota/Steam to recognize if it was a user-made abandon or a computer failure.

This is a little OT but whenever i get in this pool, I just don't play until the time is up. It's not worth playing with kids who get in their for their repeated behavior. Some of them are just impossible to play with.

I agree that the low priority is necessary. Not because it's a punishing factor, but because it doesn't punish people who play games with no intention of leaving by matching them up with leavers.

No there isn't any way to tell if it was intentional, and there never will be due to the simple fact that people would dc their internet to leave games so that it would not count as a leave.
Sorry in your case if it's actually an accident.

Once I played a game where everyone was ******ed but me XD
Like even the opposing team would be stupid too.
An Anti-Mage on my team got Desolator and Eye of Skadi, and a Sand King on the other team got Helm and a vlads.
And i don't even think the players didn't know what key to press to type.
it was sad.

EDIT: I should think before I spea- I mean type. #****eDiem
