Considering the nerf to neutral creep gold, is it still viable to play a jungling Lycan from lv1 and aim for that 7-8 min Vlads? Or should I get around say lv3 in the safe lane then transition to jungle? Is it still possible to take Rosh at ~10 mins by doing the latter?

Speaking of Vlads, I found the following discussion about Vlads vs HotD on Lycan -

Really looking for some help from the Lycan pros about him this patch.

Jungling lycan was never viable, and never will. Remember this kids, there are only 3 jungling heroes in this game, namely Enigma, Enchantress and Chen. Any other hero you put there is only weakening your team and doing less than he should.

What about active teleporting battle prophet?

I just tried Lycan in some bot matches, lv1 jungle is terrible (then again I'm not particularly good at microing and jungling) and unreliable (once I got Wildwings and Hellbears in the 2 hard camps, and both med camps had centaurs ;_;).

Entering the jungle by the time I get my Basilius from the safe lane worked out better, i.e. around 2 mins, from there on it was 8:30 Vlads and 10 min Rosh.

Still, any input on the Vlad vs HotD topic?

It's not even about the hero in the jungle itself (although most of the time he will be weaker than on lane), but about leaving your team with only 1 support and weaker lanes. There's a reason why teams go dual support and stack jungle either for mid or offlaner.

You can also play active teleporting battle prophet on offlane while disrupting enemy carry farm by pulling creeps with treants and forcing him to last hit under tower. You can do so much more. Forcing solo support means much weaker easy lane, thus easier offlane for enemy, and in some cases lost mid.

True. Jungle prophet isn't as good as offlane prophet, at least in this meta.

That depends on the person. Miracle- did a lvl 1 jungling Sven and did really frickin' well. It was surprising actually.
