so...i never played an moba before(i did play games like diablo 3 and sc2)and im trying to learn this one...im sucking HARDCORE at it,so if you guys have any kind of tips(i play dragon knight)like when to start farming in jungle stuff like that it would be much apreciated so thats it PS:im brasilian so sorry for my bad english
If you already know the basics i'd do the following:
1. watch streams or replays and analyse what people are doing, why and when.
2. keep out of the junge. When I started out playing LoL I already had a lot of problems with jungling and in Dota 2 you can pull, stack and even spawn-block jungle creeps so it's quite complicated to jungle efficiently.
3. play bot matches to learn the mechanics.
4. learn what the heroes can do so you don't get suprised every match by a hero you did'nt know before.
5. buy enough tangos and pots and always have a teleport-scroll with you.
6. If the supporter isn't warding the most important spots then do it yourself (there are are number of good warding guides so just search for one)
7. keep trying.
PS: Dota has a steep learning curve so you may want to start out with an "easier" game like LoL.
I started playing DotA 1 on Warcraft III six years ago, it was hard for me aswell, I couldn't understand what's going on, I just played with my friends and no-lifed the game for around 2 weeks (not really, playing around 5-6 hours per day) and then I started playing ok, I mean, I wasn't feeding anymore and I could understand what's happening around. I could farm, make kills, help my team with wards, etc.
You just have to try and not get mad if you get killed or so. Also, ignore the community who calls you a noob and such, just play, if you fail and you got a good team, ask them what to build, what to do, or just buy wards :D.

1. Play with bots. Start with the easiest difficulty and work your way up.
2. Work on lasthitting and denies. Watching pros will help this.
3. Test out various heroes to see which one you like. (Carry, Nuker, Support, etc)
4. Use the guides here on Dotafire, especially the noob-helping ones.
5. Ignore raging, but listen if they are giving you tips.
6. Be nice to others, some of them will help you.
7. Practice, practice, practice.
I remember when I played my first moba (LoL), I was asking my friend how to jump. It was just so much different. But just keep trying, and you'll get better over time. Give it maybe a few weeks. Best wishes :D
Here's my priority listing if you really want to get better at playing DOTA or practically any other ARTS/MOBA...
Watch pro-level games (I recommend joinDOTA) or good streamers (again joinDOTA or Purge)
Read guides and have an actual understanding of playing that hero
Play bot/practice games to test each hero then play an actual game, helped me out back then
Practice, practice and practice!
It's pretty general but that's what it comes down to :)
Back then in DOTA 1 there was no help (or maybe I didn't read guides at the time) so I had to learn everything bymself, so I had to find ways to do so. These were the methods (excluding the second part) that helped me learn!
DOTAFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new hero, or fine tune your favorite DotA hero’s build and strategy.
