Beta Key Purchasing

With release of the Dota2 store in the latest update, players that have the beta key can now buy additional keys. The keys also come with multiple weapons and add-on's for heroes as well as the boar custom courier. The cost is $39.99, and I'm sure you lovely people can find a way to get your Steam friends to buy one and then pay them back. :)

Imo, 39.99 seems like a lot of money for this game. Especially because it isn't even out of beta yet.

Yeah I do think it is a bit over priced. But it does include a good amount of bonus items and features, which do cost money as well.

True, but you can also get them without money (i.e. trading or playing dota 2)

$40 isn't too terrible. The only reason the game isn't out of beta yet is because they are still upgrading their servers and because they haven't added in all of the heroes. The game is nearly feature complete.

Besides, people spend significantly more than that on pre-orders for games they haven't even played. Paying $40 for a game you already know you like isn't too bad, especially since you can never pay a cent if you really don't want to.

Yeah, I got one for a friend the other day for one rare and two commons.

They go at a value of 1-2 rares/keys.
