What points you need to cover as a roamer to have impact:

1.Tp fast and provide vision (To lanes that matters the most)
like that you will be able to deward the enemy observers and
gather information about enemy lanes in the same time.

2.Buy a smoke every time at the begining;
3.Be careful to plant the observers well so they will not be dewarded;
4.Always do something on the map :Try to kill curier , Haras enemy to
secure farm for the core, Get bounty runes and contest the powerup runes
Make stacks if your team can farm them , Gang the weak lanes,Plant
good observers,Move undetected on the map and use the fog well,
Click on enemy heroes to see if they have tp ,Speak useful things
with the team .
